what i plan to include in the pack

BASE MESH WITH FULL UV MAP RIGGED WITH ALL ANIMATIONS FOR FPS CREATOR,

EXAMPLE MODEL FULLY RIGGED & TEXTURED (see merc images below )

BASE MESH

MERC EXAMPLE MODEL

INGAME SHOT ( to keep the mods happy )

i was thinking of charging $5.00 for this ,do you think its a fair price ?
is this somthing you would use ?
anything else you think i should add ?

let me know what you think .

cheers henry

I'll buy. Any restrictions on what we make with it? As for what else you can put in it, any knowledge you want to impart on us.

Best.

Wow great work! I'm sure tons of people(me)will find this extremely usefull. I think 5 dollars sounds fair. Good luck

maybe you can even tease people with a free demo version with limitations? It looks real good. I think 5 bucks is a totally fair price. Depends on how much work was done. I think u did alot, so this SHOULD cost 5-6 bucks!

This looks Great!

And simple.

you should also possibly add some just "Regular" people, so they dont appear to not be wearing any clothing, but they have shirt/jeans on for example, that way people could have random 'civilians' in their games.

as long as you edit the media there would be no restrictions, then you can sell/give away any models that you make .

thats what the base mesh is for ,you just pop it into your 3d modeling package & edit it to fit the sort of Character you need .

I'll buy 3 Maybe 5. I really need this! (I found out that I wasn't that good at making characters. And now some guys are waiting for a few characters for a 360 game )

Good idea, will there be female meshes aswell?

Sounds like a good idea, but how does the fully rigged model work? If we import that into a modelling app to make any changes to the mesh, the animation will be lost...

Nope, only if you move any joint/bone. Otherwise it will work as before. And if you add for example a helmet then just assign those vertices to the right joint/bone.

i may add a basic tut as well to help people get started.

...this is top-notch, henry ham.

Please do let us know when your Toolkit is ready for purchase.

The $5.00 price is indeed much less than what you should be asking for this.

You've already got my cash...

Looks good! But I think you could use more of the space in the UV Map.

Could you please send me an e-mail when this is available for purchase?

its like that so you have room to edit it yourself & give you room to add extras .if i made it any bigger there would not be enough space .

Hi Henry

Did I overlook the buy link? I'd like to order. I'm going to include extra money. You were generous enough before to send me the other basic mesh. Please let me know. Thanks!

Is the vert change not a problem for rigging? I'm just worried once people make changes the rigging will go to hell.

no mate its not finished yet still need to add a few things i will start a new post when its ready

Quote: "Whoah, I'm lost. Are the base meshes already animated?"

there is 1 version that is fully rigged ,so you can wack a texture on it & get it ingame fully setup .

Quote: "Is the vert change not a problem for rigging? I'm just worried once people make changes the rigging will go to hell"

if you make changes to the pre rigged version you will need to rework the rig ,but i included it so people with no 3d knowhow can just texture it & have a basic character ingame very quickly.but saying that if you know your stuff it can be a shortcut to .

Cyborg ART has an early version of the toolkit & im hopeing he will be able to give a small review of the media for you all .

I will post a review later on today, but I can say that it is really easy to use, and looks sooooo good
It is even rigged in a better way than the stock characters, so now twisted hands etc.

For the moment I have only divided, snapped and moved faces and vertices, and for the moment there are no need to rerigg it.

A really great product, worth more than $5 so buy it twice

He does?
I do too, and i can't figure out the way to unwrap a complete texture for my objects- i've tried "Texporter" but it only exports 1 mesh's unwrap, and i need it all to be in ONE texture file.

Nvm, finally found a tut, and figured the whole thing out
YAY

Still don't know how to export an unwrap of an entire model (not single mesh) to an image file, that i can draw texture on,
but figured out how to draw the texture and then assigning the various parts to different parts of the model, so it works in FPSC:

Short Review:

Quality:
Really good quality, you can make some really awesome characters with this basemesh. Fully animated, just import into FPSC.

Ease of use:
Its all up to the user, its not a "I am n00b but I will make a next gen character", you need a bit of experience with your 3D software, ot actually you just need to know how to select vertices (one vertex, two vertices) and move, scale and rotate them. Its that easy. And of course you can add your own mesh, like a backpack, or a cowboyhat.

Worth the price:
Its too cheap!

Other:
Works great, but laggs a bit (sometimes too much) in Milkshape, but I guess that is Milkshape´s problem
If you use Milkshape you may want to select all faces (polygons) and press Ctrl+W to weld all faces since when importing into Milkshape the faces are loose. It will give you a smoother surface.

Picture:
I just had to show what I have made so far with the mesh. No texture yet.

Notice: For some reason I had it "flat shaded" when I took the picture, when smooth shaded it is smooth.

Overall rating: plus a

Bare in mind that I dont know if the mesh has been updated, or will get updated before release.
