There isn't really much content there to attract new visitors. I realise it's a forum and the vast majority of content is generated by the users but there needs to be a reason for people to join and at the moment there just isn't.

You could try starting a few discussion threads, asking for people's opinions, suggesting your own hints and tips for different game modes.

Don't try and get members by saying something like "the next 5 people to register with be allowed to be moderators." I've seen a few people try this in the past and it just makes you look daft.

You would probably have more luck creating a site first and then basing your forum on that. Perhaps a blog dedicated to gathering all the news and rumours about the latest Call of Duty game? You could include write-ups of professional Call of Duty matches or some longer articles about the history of the game itself, I remember playing the original on the PC and I'm sure there's the possibility for an article about how it has influenced modern day first person shooters. From there you could encourage people to discuss the points further either through comments or in the forum.

If you do decide to try this then don't show it to other people until you have a good amount of content there. First impressions count for a lot on the web and if there is nothing on your site the first time people visit then it is unlikely they will return.

Good luck.

My, my, how many forums have we created over the last couple of years now Jordan? Too many, I think

Call of Duty forums are going to be very common as a google search may reveal, after all it is a very frequently acclaimed game. I don't know what other games you like but you would probably have success with something a little less known, maybe a "cult" game if you would call it that; that would have a higher chance of working.

Also have a site round it (as already said), have something to draw people in because a lonely forum in it's first few days isn't going to do that

If you see a thread of mine in GDT, please don't expect it to go anywhere.

You are using subdomain, which looks cheap. You have no main site, just a forum. Hundreds of Call of duty sites exist. They are mostly better e.g http://www.cod4central.com/

Exactly my thought. I'd join if CoD 1 and 2 was there, but they are not. So I'll skip.

I'd agree that all the World War II games in the series past #2 are stupid.

I enjoyed all of the COD games, including the newest one. The worst one in my opinion was COD 3, as the checkpoints were too far apart. But that series kicks butt over Medal of Honour

Speaking of Medial of Honour, when was the last MoH game? There hasn't been one for a while now. I quite enjoyed them.

I stopped at Cod 4, Cod 5 is just a recycled version of Cod4.

It uses basically the same engine, but they have made some changes to the rendering and added in that fire, which in my opinion was really, really bad compared to Far Cry 2.

Nazi Zombies is the best part of CoD5. it's amazing with 4 friends, especially at the later levels.

Medal of Honor Airborne IS really good. I really love the 'cover system' if thats what you want to call it. Being able to lean and peak out of and around corners / debris. It adds a whole new level of realism to the game.

You were able to do that since Allied Assault/Frontline......

I think they need to make more games set in Vietnam. DoD in 'Nam, MoH in 'Nam, CoD in 'Nam. Think of all the possibilities. And no, I don't mean in just one huge jungle.

In the same sense that San Andreas is a recycled version of GTA 3 and Vice City. Isn't that the point?

Every COD game uses the same engine--- they make improvements every year. I just fail to see why it's recycled? COD WAW is set in WW2 so everything is different than COD 4. I really enjoyed WAW

I think it just felt more like a mod then another game I don't see what the cause is to be honest. Although really I think it is because everything was the same. The game play mechanics have not be changed everything was just over lapped and called another game, really that only new thing was Nazi Zombies. Like from GTA 3 to San Andreas they added a lot more.

Fair enough, Rockstar had done a lot of new features between the games.

I hate when people say this. CoD4 was an awesome game, yet CoD5 using the same engine, sucks? Sure it may not have changed much, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It means it's just more of the good of CoD4.

I hate it at school when al my friends blow COD5 away just becuase its WW2. I actually prefer WW2 guns to modern day guns, because there is something more satisfying single shotting people with bolt action rifles.

Well I was an avid Call of Duty 4 online gamer. However, Call of Duty WaW really didn't do it for me.

I guess it was something to do with all the single-shot weapons. I mean, I know there weren't that many automatic assault rifles invented, but it still removes from the online gameplay.

I had a lot higher expectations for Cod5 like most people I think. But in terms of game play (mainly online) there wasn't anything much new. Sure there was some new levels, but they could of almost released a map back for cod4 instead. Everything was just kind of slightly changed and then re branded as cod5. All the perks were renamed. Vehicles were added which were worse than cod3. I mean when your in a vehicle you will have an advantage but an enemy should at least with a bit of effort be able to take you out. But this was not the case. You need over 2 rockets of which you only carry 2. This screwed up the game.

I will say the single player was OK but not great. But the multiplayer sucked. COD3 had better WW2 online.

CoD4 was designed better. CoD5 may be above most other WWII shooters of late, but that's only because it has the engine going for it. Every element of the design of CoD4 is just done so well. The mutiplayer is where this really shows, with level design that never tires and offers infinite possibilities for playing styles, including sniping. The weapons were designed and balanced far better and felt more realistic. CoD5 seems a lot more run 'n' gun. It seems the best way to dominate games is to run about with a sub-machine gun opening up on everything you see. CoD4 is more tactical in that you can play a game as a concealed sniper moving from spot to spot, a CQB specialist for room clearing or anything you can think of. CoD5 is a solid shooter, but it lacks the awesome design that made CoD4 work so damn well.

83% of women tested found Pus in Boots irresistable. (Based on a survey of 172 women.)
