These are always fun. I'd like to share my current setup. I'm pretty proud of it and it's my first chance to post my setup with dual monitors.

I attached the image to the post because it's huge and would stretch the forum all out.

Monitor one on the left is at 1920 x 1080 and monitor two on the right is in 1680 x 1050.

As you can see I really like Demon Hunter. Desktop image is semi-custom based off their album artwork for their Storm the Gates of Hell album.

I'm using a Vista Skin which for the life of me I cannot remember what it's called... :\ I believe I got it off Deviant Art.

You can see the Vista Sidebar to the right with a few gadgets, one being Pidglet. It lets you integrate your Pidgin friends list into the sidebar.

Along the bottom we have a Rocket Dock on top of a Desktop Coral 'toolbar' the toolbar being there allows me to maximize my windows without covering the Rocket Dock, much like a Mac's dock functionality. Unfortunately such functionality is not in Rocket Dock by default.

You'll also see a Winamp toolbar along the bottom. It's using the 'ClearONE' skin.

We also have FireFox with some custom modifications to fit my workflow/ personal taste.

Last but not least I have my alarm clock application (you can get it at my site www.silver-dawn.net *shameless plug*) running on the top left of the right monitor so I can wake up in the morning.

So yeah, I wanna see yours! Haven't done one of these in awhile.

A while back I moved all my important/frequently used things to either the taskbar or the start menu, so the only thing left on my desktop is the recycle bin. Then I decided to disable desktop icons to make it look all neatish, and got a wallpaper changer set to randomly change every 60 minutes or on command. I can't really show each of the 278 hi-res backgrounds (157 MB) I've since downloaded from various wallpaper sites, so I'll pick this one.

@Agent Dink
the theme you are using is NEXTLevel AT from
http://vathanx.deviantart.com/art/NEXTLevel-71347045
I'm pretty sure you got that from me the last time we had one of these threads

Well, here's mine.

I've got ObjectDock and the same theme that Agent Dink is using.

I don't understand when people say, "How can you work/concentrate with such a messy desktop?!", but you don't work on the desktop. My desktop is incredibly full but it'd not messy because I know where everything is.

The wallpaper is of me and my fiancee. I cut her out, because she wouldn't want me plastering her face on nerd forums.

And before you say "OMG UTORRENT!11!!! TOASTY IS A PIRATE!111!!!!" well I only use it to download Oblivion mods. Especially the texture packs.

I did to a degree - but my point was OS X makes it harder to keep everything messy

Mine is attached. I'm running XP and love the theme I am using for it
(Luna Elements 5). The background I'm using is fairly commonplace among Macs. I can't remember where I got it...

And yeah, I have the Blitz 3D demo. But I'm still using DarkBASIC Classic to develop my current project! I only downloaded Blitz 3D to see how much different it was from DBC...

I forgot to mention that my resolution is 1152x864, because 1024x768 was just too small for me anymore.

Unlike many people here, it seems, I don't like my desktop completely empty. I also don't like it cluttered, so I just have it sorted by name on the left side, with most of the icons being game .exe's, so I can see at a glance which games I have to play, and quickly load them up.

I see you have a torrent program, pirate much? You know how wrong pirating is? Okay, I'm doing this all wrong...OMG u'z lyk piratz! Is that to your liking? Or is this merely a pointless post? Yes, definitely the latter, I'll stop typing now.

Haha nobody needs to be apologetic for having a torrent client, it is NOT illegal. And I'm sure nobody here cares if you have Blitz3D or any of the other competitors

Very true. I downloaded that one too, but elected to use the blue one because it matched the Luna theme. My desktop must be color-coordinated.

The ultimate layout. Everything on the Quick Launch on one layer, window manager on the other. Just as it should be. I would say there is no better layout; no running and nonrunning apps together, no clutter, minimal screen usage because it hides.

No point in showing the other monitor because theres nothing on it.
Its a 19inch HD TV that i use to check colours (because my laptop is so bloody bright) and to do texture/drawing on with my tablet. I like mine clean, if i ever have anything on there its just shortcuts to folders, i never store anything on the desktop.

I love my background.

I'll finish them whenever i can be bothered.

Well, I've never seen one of these threads before so this is my first, and people's desktops look pretty nice... but PCs apparently run quicker with no desktop icons so I don't have any on mine:

(By the way, on a normal day of development I'd have about 15 things open down the side xD)
(Oh yeh and all those little screenshots are actually what my desktop background composes of (they are me playing all my favourite games ))

Lol that wasn't a mistake, I just hadn't connected the 2 yet, because I had to post the picture before I could link it to the button.

Na I'm using Firefox - can't you see that on my start menu? xD (I despise Chrome, it doesn't allow me to do simple things I usually do on FF)

xD I wasn't referring the 'simple things' to this, I was just stating why I don't use Chrome lol.

The main source of my error in posting was due to having to upload the picture, retrieve it's URL once posted, then link the View button to that URL. (You caught me mid-flow.)
