Why is it, when a game like unreal tournament will let me play with a steering wheel if i'm masochistic enough, don't games like burnout ultmate paradise, and need for speed2, let me play with any form of analogue control?

If any one has found a way to get analogue control into these games that don't seem to want you to, or has a driving game with proper steering wheel support, then please post, i'm sick of driving games that won't let me use my steering wheel. (fortunately I haven't forked out any money on burnout and am just testing the demo, but i can't find any control confuguration options anywhere)

I play need for speed pro street and burnout paradise both with analogue controls. controller in mind is the xbox 360 style pad for pc. i didnt need to do anything to set it up either, just make sure its plugged in before the game loads.

are you sure that;s not burnout seeing an official xbox360 controller and saying "i know what that is, i've already got programming for it"? because the demo version couldn't care less that i have my dreamcast steering wheel pluggen in via a dc2usb adapter, it just tells me a is acceperate, and i had to work out the rest for myself. My default way of getting the controls for a game is to go look in the control config menu, which burnout doesn't seem to have. I don't think any game on the pc should force a set of controlls on you, that's what the pc is all about, customisation/personal configurations.

does nfs pro street have a configuration menu for analogue joysticks?

Try TM Nations Forever. It has good controller support, and the game play can get pretty intense. Ah, and it's free.
