Wow, always interesting when this sort of thing happens:

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3175816

They will own all the Marvel IP (Spiderman, Hulk, etc.)

What do you think?

Pixar I understood, but Marvel I don't, it's not quite their style. I'm not much of a comic book reader, my sister buys 2000 AD, so when I'm in the loo I normally flick through that and that's about it - so I don't really have an opinion, other than maybe give them a chance, as they might manage do justice in acquiring them.

Well a big company should diversify, so it doesn't necessarily have to match their style. But yah, all we can do is wait and see what happens.

I think this is awesome. They better get some rides up before I go next spring with my family.

Alternatively, just go to islands of adventure (if you're off to Florida) since they already have Marvel rides there

I went there before. It was horrendous. The lines were disgustingly long and you couldn't do fast passes for the good ones, you had to buy a $50 ticket to get on rides quick. Universal is terrible. haha

So what happens to Marvel movies that are in production w/ other companies? Bit of a conflict of interest there.
Still, this means that my dream of a Pixar-Developed Spiderman movie may come to fruition.

So does this mean Disney gets royalties from Universal's Marvel rides?

I sadly think Marvel could use a change. Their comics are not the problem, it's their animated movies that they've been churning out the last 5 years...I've yet to see one that I actually liked.

This could also mean 3d animated Marvel movies and of course some better quality 2d movies...(though the whole 'we don't do 2d animation anymore' comes to mind...wth Disney?)

I don't think they'll try to mess with the current live action movies in production, considering their making movies surrounding the Ultimates characters, eventually building up to an Ultimates movie(epic!). The movies have been hugely successful, and Disney would be a udder fool to mess with them.

It was ruined by the first one. Xmen was ruined with the 3rd, just as spiderman. Which means we have 1 more good iron man before the bad one comes out.

Phaelax:
They'll be working on the Ultimate's by then hopefully. It be cool if they kept to the storyline form the comics and not the horribly done animated movie from 4 years ago.

I have to disagree. I liked the 3rd Spiderman more than the other 2. Just my opionon I guess.

Hi, it’s Robert with Stealthmod! You’ll be saying Stealth every time you use this mod! It’s like CoD! It’s like L4D! It’s like BioShock. A regular mod doesn’t work good – this works good and great.

lazerus: Yea the sequel is bad without the same actor as in The Punisher (2004).One of my fav movies, watched it atleast 50 times.By ruining I meant not change his style to something sissy.

I used to really like marvel, and the comics/short animated series are still the best superhero comic material, but I think I actually prefer DC now, for films and stuff. It'll be interesting to see how Disney try to compete with that.

Compete with what? Disney can throw together an animation of Spiderman and Mickey Mouse dancing to 'Chim-Chimeny' sung by my deaf grandmother and it would still sell.

If anything it's definitely going to strengthen Marvel and the amount of media it produces. Whether for the good of keeping 'The Marvel Way' or not, Marvel sales are going to increase regardless.

My opinion at least.

DC in my opinion was spiraling down hill until recently in the past ten years. Their recent comics and definitely movie adaptions go to show how much stronger they're coming out in the media industry. Nearly every gaming mag and review site has said that Arkham Asylum is the greatest Batman game of all time...though it does help to have The Force behind the Joker.

I think Marvel was feeling the heat. Honestly their animations and recent movies have only been 'alright' or just plain 'rent once never look at again.' I think this move is going to do a lot for the company, and I can't wait to see what they do with the IP's.

I felt they just tried to do too much in one movie. Multiple villain stories, and the whole "emo peter" to show his dark side was just bad and corny.

+1 on that, I fast forwarded through that, it was horrible. PP is "emo" enough without having the visual aid.
