Screws are another thing. They are actually supposed to seem to pop out of the model, whereas text is going to be engraved on a flat surface. Trust me, using the method I posted will like roughly 80% the same.

I can certainly understand you wanting to model it in if the text is large print on the side or whatever, but the little O and A above the selector is a tiny detail, and it won't make a whole lot of difference having it Photoshopped in.
And of course you don't mean offence. We're having a friendly debate over how to make your models look better with a smaller amount of effort
