And so, David's plans to get laid were thwarted.

It's a programming forum man.

I'm only usually a male. Two nights a week I become Lady Mistlethorpe, and attend débutante's balls posing as a grandmother from an old money family. Does that count?

I do believe you'll find that one of the most frequent members on the FPS Creator forums (Leaning objects to the side, aka Tanya) is in fact a woman.

Why does it matter? If you want to meet ladies then get out of the house and find some.

I don't see why it's funny or it matters. There are things on this planet that guys like more then women and women like more then guys, and this might be one of them.

Can I just say for the record that I don't like programming more than women. If you do, that's fine with me, if a little odd, but I just wanted to be clear here...

@Demons breath - That was a generalization based on the fact that guys like video games more then women (not all women and not all guys) and because of that I would assume that guys would like to make games more then women.

Well... i cant see stating the obvious as a good 'quirk' for women. Got to the nearest bar, club, anywhere thats got ale and buy the first round.

Get s. faced and leave with ethier a women or 11 numbers. Though know your limit in experience a friend puking isnt the greatest turn on for women.

That concludes hooking up 101. Beofre you question my methods, i woke up this mourning( to the dismay of lem' ) with the numbers wrote on my body in several palces, two of which i wont say what direction they went. helps if you can remember what they looked like aswell... -_-"

hummph i spent £80 last night dam, thier goes my new years blowout.

relavent, slighly, But its something you just have to tell everyone.

ehh lesson, dont take plastic with you.

ahh got it, want women go to a bar, want coding and geekish stuff come here.

I was joking...... About preferring women to programming... It was humour, created by the intentional misinterpretation of your sentence.

EDIT:
£80? That's feeble. I'm broke as hell now because even at student bar prices I've managed a few £160 nights this term - very very very messy...

That's what's so good about student places as well. £1.50 Jagerbombs, £2 pints, and considering I'm usually operating on half a bottle of SoCo and a bottle of red as well as maybe a few beers before I even head out, a night out can be rather cheap...

That's what I thought until I came to college. I don't drink all that often, but sometimes a going a little past a buzz makes things a little more fun and interesting. And if you're normally a shy computer geek, the alcohol can make you a little friendlier than you might normally be toward people you've just met and will probably never see again.

And on topic: A bunch of women in the science departments and marketing finance programs here either know programming or are trying to at least learn a scripting language like PERL.

And being drunk is just a personal choice, I can get why you wouldn't want to be, but I thoroughly enjoy it. I've only been drinking properly since I was about 15, but I feel I've caught up with many of my contemporaries in that time

But yeah, why does it matter how many girls there are compared to guys? (Was strongly considering making a few gender-based generalisations here just to draw them out of hiding, but I doubt that a flame-war against me would be helpful to the thread...)

Nowt wrong with getting drunk...it can have its humorous side to it as well...we went out drinking with our lecturers on Wednesday...PLENTY of quotable material there.

Though all ought to drink responsibly, I mean A: I doubt many girls would be impressed (keeping on topic) and B: It's not much fun being flat-out on your back completely bladdered.

But as you've said demonsbreath, it's a life-choice, I know people who order a coke at the bar instead of anything alcoholic, and that's perfectly fine.

As for girls on the forum...needn't matter, it's not a dating website. Though there's a few, there's Tilly, though I doubt many of you will have a chance pulling her, because she's already going out with Newton.

@FredP: *In an overdrivenly chocked voice* nooo?!

Don't really know what to say on the topic.
Likely there aren't many females around here at all, though some have been seen. But for all we know, they could just as well be Grandma's brother.

Maybe we should petition for a dating sub-forum though?

Ale is the scales for the inner monster or a happy go lucky fool in all of us. They question is blance and knowing your limits. Thats the reason for the set £80, more than £120 of ale is my limit, past that id rather forget.

£80 is the grey area which i can still be reasonable in. Trial an error got me thier, of course and a few nights on a concrete slab was my mediator. Nothing overly dramtic just the point were i couldnt say where i lived so i got the lovely oppertunity to wake up in a detention cell with a stiff neck and one hell of a headache.

Ohh and most important part of £80 limit, no hangover ^_^

Though i torn up shoes so i went to liverpool one to get a new pair today, I seem to jog along the beach when am drunk, not very good in converse.

Relavency, enjoy it, dont over do it, dont do it alone.

And here I thought team requests weren't allowed...

There are few females that visit the forums that I'm aware of (granted, I'm incredibly active, so I don't know). TillyLala, BlueFox and Leaning Objects to the Side are the ones that I can think of off of the top of my head.

I basically don't get hangovers any more. As long as I'm only drinking then the next day I'll be fine, no matter how much I mix my drinks. It's great - I don't know why it started all of a sudden when I headed to uni, but I could drink as much as I wanted, and end up hangover-free in the morning. I suppose I drink a bit more water now than I used to... That might be something to do with it...

Let's be honest, most blokes don't like to make games anyway. Maybe it's just that blokes are smarter than women overall. That's probably it....

Maybe men are more logical and more suited to programming, aside from other factors.

He he.

However, drinking plenty of water before going to bed is meant to help, after all the best part of a hangover is actually dehydration.

Woman are that into computers as males because most women don't see a need to learn to make games don't have the same feeling men get when they make something

There are a lot of female software engineers in the game industry.

Maybe they don't waste time on forums and actually work on their projects? That might be why they don't come 'round these here parts.

The only women I know that are (a) intelligent and (b) interested in programming, are (c) completely devoid of artistic ability and creative inspiration.

I don't think the female brain is capable of all three. Where the male brain and handle (a) (b) and (c), the female brain has to swap one of those for (d) "constantly thinking about shoes and handbags".

Therefore women cannot be game developers.
