No it's not released, but the demo is and the beta is on the PC. I have the beta and it is AMAZING.

Anybody else had fun with it?

Yep for Xbox 360 and yes, IT IS AMAZING! Much, much better then modern warfare 2. I love the destructible environments.

I can't get into it I do like it, but I'm a bit of a MW2 lover, and I can't seem to get any kills on BC2

I have the demo for PS3. Its ok... I can almost say its as good as MW2 but I don't know if I can. They are pretty much completely opposite. Battlefield has huge maps with lots of vehicles which is cool, and I LOVE to snipe. So big worlds are cool. On the other hand though I really like MW2, because of some of the cool weapons and perks and stuff. Like in MW2 I would just go around with the riot sheild in team deathmatch and I would pretty much sit there, everyone would shoot me and me partners would kill them. That was always fun, so overall I would have to say that I personally like MW2 better.

Because it's incredibly unbalanced.....

Although really I hate perks I like killing based on skill or intelligence not who ever happened to pick the better thing at the time.

Been playing and loving the demo on 360, very impressed at how they've improved it and I'm looking forward to the full game. For some reason I feel like most people suck at it, I get 1st place literally probably 4/5 times (and I'm not bragging), and I don't feel like I'm even that good at it (my kill-death ratio is like 1.6, nothing amazing), I just actually help team mates and work towards objectives.

Quote: "I can't get into it I do like it, but I'm a bit of a MW2 lover, and I can't seem to get any kills on BC2 "

It took me a while to get used to how long it takes to kill people. The full game will have a "realism mode" (like CoD's hardcore) with increased weapon damage, no HUD, and no kill cam, so I'm looking forward to trying that out.

Just remember, Battlefield now boasts weapon customization and a sort of perk/equipment/whatever system.

And yes, the game is awesome - I've already got it pre-ordered

You know I really hate when people say that.. I don't know if you noticed, but their isn't to many level 1's in a match with 10th prestigers.. If its unbalanced, then get better. Its that plain and simple. I don't really get how its unbalanced. If you picked the wrong perk than thats your fault, not your opponents for picking the right one.

To be honest, i do think that it is unfair, in Halo 3 i always seemed to be matched up with people of equal skill, whereas CodMod2 often threw me into a game with people far better than me, but in a way its good, taught me to get better, lol.

What do you expect when you create *yet another* thread about a computer game?

It's forum, about GAMES. Be it GAME CREATION or GAMING and you'd think the off-topic board would have a lot of topics containing GAMES.

Therefore, when I make a post about a game I'm quite enjoying, without even hinting the word 'MW2', trying to avoid any mention of the game, is it my fault that it comes up and people are already comparing it to MW2 when they are two totally different games, et cetera, et cetera? I'd like to propose that anyone who posts those three letters gets an instant IP ban because it seems to lead to massive rages.

Let me rephrase my question then. What did you expect when you create *yet another* thread about a FPS, especially when it's directly in competition with another everyone is bashing right now?

Quote: "I'd like to propose that anyone who posts those three letters gets an instant IP ban because it seems to lead to massive rages."

It seems to me that you are usually one of the people who starts those "massive rages". Saying things like, "STOP PLAYING THIS STUPID GAME".

Anyway, it's just a game. This argument needs to end right here.

Modern Warfare 2

I did it.

I'm dead now.

Though, I agree, it has no place in this thread, it has occupied many threads, lets not compare them - they're probably both awesome games for their own reasons and like in anything, people WILL prefer one over the other. There's nothing new or interesting about that.

I will probably download this demo later (I'm assuming like BC1 it'll be on the 360?).

Im sorry.. as far as I know, they are both FPS War games mostly based on multiplayer, and also, im pretty sure they are the top two war games right now. Why should I not compare them? My opinion is to help people. Not to start wars. You just took it the wrong way.

From what I understand, it's a thread about BC2 and discussing its release, but also opinions on the demo, not a comparison thread. I'm sure people can decide for themselves which is better or if people are looking for comparisons, they either look or ask for them. The OP wanted a BC discussion thread and I think it's fair to complain when people start talking about MW2 instead of BC2.

Personally I've never played any BC games, I played the demo for BC 1 and I found it difficult to get used to. I kept dying.

It's more likely that I'd buy BC2 than MW2, I have MW2 already but personally I always liked the Battlefield matches. 1943 was really good, I'd buy a new Battlefield game based on that - I'd buy BF2142 for the 360 as well if they'd make it. I think that would be an awesome XBL game. I even like BF:MC, it's big and epic, and for a long time it was the best online shooter for the 360, people still play it and enjoy it.

All I've really played of MW2 is the spec-ops 2-player stuff, which is good fun, but I am not a huge fan of the campaigns in COD bar the first game. The campaign mode in the original COD was incredible IMO, but these days I rather play co-op games like Borderlands. If I want a plot, then these days I like it to be vague and just let me get on with it. When I play a plot based game, it tends to be an RPG, like Fallout3, maybe the best solo game I've played in years. Farcry2 was immensely good as well, great online, great map editor, and the story mode lasts for ages and affords a lot of freedom. I guess I prefer a sand-box style RPG shooter to pure shooters like COD.

I can see the appeal though, COD has an epic feel to it and it can suck you right in - personally I'm just a little sick of running through post-war, eastern european streets.

I think BC2 will be a really good buy, as long as they keep to the original BF2 style gameplay that everyone loves, im sure they said they would, combined with single player story right?

But, with the combination of good graphics and the awesome BF2 style gameplay, its a mus buy for me, now if only the bloody demo would work on my ps3.

Looks like i will have to get it on my xbox instead.

Played this game a bit last night, and all I can say

THIS GAME IS MY NEW DRUG

I think I finished most of the campaign, played a little MP and was shocked that some people have already leveled up a fair way. Some guy already had the GOL sniper rifle :S

Got it yesterday when it released, and have already played probably 6-8 hours. It's a lot of fun, some good maps with quite a bit of variety. I'm really liking hardcore mode so far (although there are tons of snipers on it).

Battlefield Vietnam was always my favourite.

They really nailed that game and I think it was the best in the series until Bad Company came along.

My 360 died (twice) so I'll be getting BC2 for PC now.

I just saw the gamespot video review and BC2 looks really good I have to say.

Its just been release today here in the UK so I might grab a copy on the way home from work.

Looks way better than MW2 if you ask me.

It's awesome so far. Best FPS I've played. The audio is amazing as well. I put it on the war tapes setting and it's just wow. And the fact that your gun reacts to everything makes it feel so realistic. Truly an awesome game.

So far from what I've played, it's a lot of fun. What made it nice is that it threw some neat things in, that I wasn't expecting. Which just added on top of things.

single player's probably the best single player combat i've ever seen, except maybe operation flashpoint dragon rising. the friendly NPC's are indestructible, they take bullets on the chin, yet they insist on standing around and making you do all the fighting. the gameplays really varied though, you get to try out pretty much all the weapons and vehicles, story lines a bit generic and gash though..

Do you know if that's that an option for the 360 or just the PC? I hadn't heard of that but I just looked it up and it looks cool.

Quote: "yet they insist on standing around and making you do all the fighting."

Really? I thought they were pretty helpful from what I've played. They seem to kill about 2/3 of the enemies, which is a lot more than most games. Maybe that's just because it's the first levels.

Same for me...and I don't have Xbox live Gold, so the Xbox demo is out of the question. I love how they disabled the console demo too. Isn't the point of a demo to let everyone test a game to see if it is worth the $50\$60 bucks? Isn't that what demo means?

Pre-orders got in, but be lucky you didn't send a key, because if you didn't like the beta, and decided to cancel your game order, you couldn't, because after the keys were dispatched you couldn't cancel your pre-order.

The last week or so of the beta apparently was opened for all to play. There is going to be another demo released in a couple weeks. The only reason the demo was released and shut down before, was to let people who were on the bounds of buying the game or pre-ordering it try it out before they buy it. Don't worry, another demo will be coming out.

Believe me, the game is definitely worth the money. If you like team-based game-play, or even going lone sometimes, it's the game for you. Great graphics, destructible environments, and so on.

Hi everyone

I just got a PS3 with Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2 after reading this thread and I have to say I prefer Bad Company 2.

Its a real step up from the previous game and the graphics are beautiful, especially when running at 1080p. Both singleplayer and online are great and I actually enjoy playing either mode equally.

Modern Warfare 2 is still a great game and I've been getting my arse handed to me plenty but bad company 2 takes it to another level with fully destructable environments and vehicles.

As shown in the attached ingame pic the graphics are AMAZING
