I thought I posted but I guess I didn't. First of all welcome to all the newbies (NOT noobs but new people).

I'm a retired computer programmer. I started out in the early 70's and worked long distance with Bill gates through the early 80s. Don't let this impress you. It didn't work out and I did NOT become a billionaire.
But, that's OK. Good experience. BTW, he had a fledgling business at that time which was founded in his parent's home.
He always had a mind for business and dreaming. Which is good for entrepreneurs.
When I grow up I want to develop games. Oh, I guess that's what I'm trying to do now. However, because of my programming background I ended up doing more programming work on FPI EditPad and RPG Mod. Oh well, if I live long enough I'll get that dream game I've been wanting to start. So far all of my games have been educational in nature.
As a Vietnam Vet, I want to also thank Keith for his service.
NOTE: Because I am a fairly fast touch typist it is easy for me to get carried away with posts. So if you think my posts are long don't worry, I'm just full of hot air and need to let some out every once in a while.
Addendum:
I like to do addendums.
When I first started looking at ways of game development my first thought was using VB, then C#. C# was out immediately as I didn't want to learn something new and different although I've worked with C++. However, I also soon found that there was going to be too much "from scratch" kind of programming dealing with the video cards. Then I found DBPro. It was similar to the VB language which I had become very, very familiar with in the last few years of my Data Base programming business. Also it was appealing because it had all the commands that sat on top of MS's DX library. That was just the ticket. However, it too was too much to learn at the time. That's when I looked at FPSC. Hmmm? I like this drag and drop thing. I was also very impressed with the writer of this app as well as the programming language of DBPro. Do you realize the most sophisticated programs in mechanical engineering are now using the "drag and drop" technique of objects?
Because of my experience and because I'm old and it is expected of old people to reminisce I could go on and on. Before I quit, I need to tell you that my very first Hard Drive (a whopping 5MB) cost US $1,000 back in the 70's. My memory might not be so good about how much. But I do know it was a lot of money.
