Everything I learned about life and what it means to be a man I learned from Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry (the older ones).

Those animators at Warner Bros. were geniuses, they were the Pixar of their era. Too bad most of those old cartoons can't be shown anymore. They are SO politically incorrect now, in their portrayal of women and black people with the old slave/blackface gag.

Those were days - when men were men, and women were objects.

Yeah the characters were knockoffs of Luke Skywalker (Thundarr) and his light saber (Thundarrs Sun Sword)..."

Is this not a massive rip off of He-Man?

My favourite was Thundercats, I still watch episodes occasionally and they're genuinely entertaining. I was obsessed with Transformers and I think the movie is spectacular (the original cartoon movie not the rubbish shia lebouf crap) but I always thought the TV series was a bit weak. I also loved TMNT, I wanted to be Donatello or Leonardo Can't really see a kids show with the characters named after renaissance artists these days.
OMG I forgot Ghostbusters!!!!!!! Kids TV was awesome back then, now it's just "little brat goes to school, plays up, goes home" wow now that is inspiring kids' imaginations. Why is every cartoon character a child now? The whole point of cartoon characters is to be cool characters kids want to emulate!
I have had a long standing theory on this, I believe that children use cartoon characters as role models. They are greatly influenced by the morality of cartoons. If Optimus Prime tells you not to do something you listen. I remember when every cartoon had a cheesy "citizenship" bit at the end, it seems stupid but I think they really had an effect on kids.

Favourite cartoon had to be either Tom & Jerry, Captain Caveman, Scooby Doo or The Flintstones. All brilliant.
