Isn't that like saying going from black and white to technicolour isn't that much of an improvement?

You can get further with a smile and a gun than you can with just a smile.

I don't see the point in 3D TV, I don't think you need things to jump out of the screen at you. I can imagine people saying the same thing about colour TV in the 60s though.

I think the main reason 3D technology hasn't become mainstream is quite an embarrassing reason. People are so vain and self-conscious they are embarrassed to wear the glasses required. If you remove the need to wear glasses it will be snapped up over night.

and it is expensive*
i dont mind the glasses, but i dont really see the effect that often, for example, i saw Avatar in 3d, and there was so much going on at the same time, i barely noticed it.
however, at the commercial, there was a white backround and then they put up this coca cola can, and that 3d effect was better, than all the 3d effect in the movie together.

Future of gaming, something like Kinect with force feedback, that would make the best hand-to-hand fight sequences!

Also, magnetic acceleration applied to modern assault rifles would make war even more deadly. And fusion power, nano-tech, FTL travel...all those lovely things I guarantee will be invented the day after I die... D:
