That's a beautiful car!

While I could write a list a mile long of cars I want, I guess my dream car is a 1970 Dodge Challenger. Of course I'd prefer the 426 hemi, but I'll settle for a 440ci. Green with black stripes. (Pic is of a TA model)

If I found a convertible model, it'd have to be purple with white interior.

I'm going with a Ford Explorer 2007. Why? Because it's simple, and I've always wanted a nice looking SUV. I don't see the need for all these fancy expensive cars, I'm happy with something basic.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

I owned my dream car when I had my GTR. I don't have ludicrous dreams, just modest ones. So I don't know what my replacement dream would be, but I have always thought a Bowler Nemesis or Wildcat would kick ass. Imagine out pacing almost every super car you see at the light, and also being able to have a head on collision with one without even a dent?

Great car... unless you were into a numbers matching classic with a cool motor, the 440 would actually be the better engine power wise, but the hemi for the cool factor. Now an even better option would be to go with a 400 block stroked with an offset grind 440 crank or an aftermarket crank. The 400 is much stouter with mains that range from ~1 - 3 inch thick. Some of the thickest out there. Slap on some nice aluminum heads and a high flow intake mild cam... youd have a real screamer.

Im more of a truck man myself... My current truck would be my dream vehicle really (1984 dodge ram 1/2 ton d150) with some mods:

4 link front and rear with jonny joint ends, dual rate coilovers, 38.5 inch interco irocs or a comparable sized bfg crawler or km2 mt tire, unimog 404 axles with the torq tube replaced with a yoke and with a full sized disk brake conversion, atlas 2 transfercase, the above mentioned stroker, Eddy efi or a custom built intake with a mega squirt controller (i know a guy that fabs intakes for these motors!), front clip narrowed and frame chopped and repaced with a tube front end, rear norrowed and shortened and rear axle moved back, the the cab boatsided, and the the belly plated to protect the goodies.. Now thats a ride

The 2011 SS Camaro. Man is that thing a beauty. It's pretty cheap for what you get too. I see it all the time now and it's still my favorite car. It's both a muscle and a sports car in one.

Ahhhh I want one so bad. Definitely gonna have to buy one whenever I get a real job lol.

The hemi was still a slightly faster car than the 440, but I think the 440 probably had greater potential in the long run. And yea, aluminum heads make such a big difference on cars like those. My friend wants some for his 340.

I cant remember the numbers but the differences in the two motors in stock form was minimal, in fact in drag testing with comparable drivers they were pretty even, depending more on the driver then the motor. For upgradabiliy the 440 has much more aftermarket support, but it doesnt get much cooler then the hemi. Now the hemi has aftermarket support as well, but it tends to get a little pricey and its harder to come by. As for your friend and his 340... heads are $$$ lol. Tell him to get some cast heads off a 360 from a junk yard and practice porting, look into a nice mild cam, (which way to go with it will be determined by what he wants), more lift less duration ~= more torque less lift more durration ~= high end... but an expert can give him the best choice. rebuild the heads with stainless valves and springs, port them and he will end up with some decent heads. (maybe not on par with aluminum sets, but good enough). Anyway... i could go on..

We'll have to talk cars sometime, im a real mopar nut...

318 = best motor ever made lol

The car already has some work to it, enough to put that 340 at around 400hp. He won best sound at show one year (exhaust, not speakers for those who thought otherwise). He's had the car for close to 12 years now.

Isocadia, your dream car is a model that's barely been around for a year yet? Is it at least the XFR?

Ok, so it's a landrover chassis, but surrounded in a tubular steel cage that King Kong couldn't break, even if he was very upset indeed. Plus the suspension etc have all been upgraded so that you could spend 8 years driving into them repeatedly with a battleship, and perhaps scuff the polished surface. And let's face it, TVR engines are amazing!

Just imagine, chilling out, driving about with a massive v8 and ridiculous exhaust, able to basically drive through a house at a million miles an hour, if one so decides to get in your way. And it looks badass too!

Let's get one each and terrorize our respective corners of the globe! But I wonder if they even make a road going/commercial version.

My wife has an Elise. Awesome car but they also suck big time. Try getting in and out of one without looking like an idiot (if you are a bloke. Women have no problems). Plus nightmare to drive...

Personally I would quite like a Lambo. Very nice. Realistically it would probably be a TVR Sagaris

It would have to be something mentally fast like that as my current one is hardly slow (M3 - 4.9 to 60 and 11 secs to 100mph I believe).

Yeah, but you could just blow anyone up who tried to give you a ticket, I mean, it's a frickin' destroyer. Also, I'd imagine they'd have some sort of fusion generators so fuel would cost next to nothing.

My dream car would be the flying car... It would be great to fly anywhere you want to go as far as your full tanks of jet fuel will take you. In a way I'm glad a feasible one hasn't been invented yet with all the road raging irresponsible intoxicated speeding drivers out there causing lots of fatal accidents...

Oh... and the Lamborghini Reventon... except I would have it modified with stealth capabilities.

This is not the one I had, but it is the direction I was moving towards with it. Had a bed full of brand new parts, lift kit, fender flares, brush gaurd... and much more when I sold it.

If it had to be a car, it would be a 69 Camaro SS.

Yep. 2005 model. BMW quote 4.8 but most mags say 4.9 to 60mph. 0-100mph is apparently 11.5 or so. Like all cars stats differ from different mags and sites but for the manual non-convertible then it's normally under 5 or pretty much on the dot for 60.

If I was going old school then I guess an AC Cobra or something like a Caterham (or that sort of type). Pretty much nothing keeps up with you on a windy road Although now I'm older I quite like the luxuries of something like an M3. I mean it has heated memory seats! (compared to the hell that is going anywhere in my wife's Elise (identical to mine to 60 as it's the faster version but being practically on the floor it is much more scary. Especially as a passenger)- It doesn't even have sun visors...)

Maybe for an M5, but that seems a bit quick for the M3. The specs I looked up (regarding the '05 M3 competition package) were a little different. I'm not sure what mags you've read but I'm seeing 0-60 in 5.5 and [email protected] in the quarter. Those numbers sound more accurate considering the 333hp. Don't get me wrong, it's a quick car, but it sounds like you gave M5 numbers to an M3.

Maybe in America. You are probably looking at automatic versions and SMG variants. Or even convertibles. In Europe the manual is the fastest (and by far the most popular). Search UK mag sites (eg. Evo) and they all fall around 5. Most I saw in mags said 4.9, and BMW at the time quoted 4.8, although it all depends which mag you read (which goes for any car really), but I never saw anything below 5.1 for a manual M3. And I don't have 333bhp, I have something like 343bhp I believe which is stock for a manual M3 in the UK.

Look for UK comparisons and most people rate the M5 and M3 at the time about the same speed (with M3 being better handling). Even the new M3 is only like a tenth faster to 60 with about a second on it to 100.

Cheers
