Hey,

So I received my pre-order copy of Skyrim some 16 hours ago in the mail and have been playing it ever since.
Being in New Zealand means we are ahead of most people in getting set release-date stuff. Australia still has to wait another 9 hours!

And. I'm not going to give out any spoilers. Other than it is amazing.
And just the opening cinematic is, mind my language, but in all honesty, jizz worthy.

It has lived up to the hype I have been feeling since Morrowind.
A mighty long wait since the announcement. But it is amazing.

AMAZING.

I rolled a native Nord warrior / spell caster in this run through.
I like to stick to that, even though sometimes I go a bit over board and try everything out on the same toon

The world is so much more vibrant and alive as opposed to Oblivion, citizens will be working jobs, stop and talk to each other, pick up the loot that you drop and try sell it.

I even killed someones wife, (not saying why) and her husband hunted me down across the entire bloody country to find and kill me.
Npc's live and react amazingly well.

The story about the Dragons is very intriguing as you would expect, and dwells deeply into the lore of the Elder Scrolls universe, which you can study if you so choose in the game.

Anyway, it seems that in this some 12 hours of playtime I have put into Skyrim, that I am barely out of my diapers.

Can't wait to talk about it more once other people start getting their pre-orders in the mail

Max

Mine DID arrive early even for us though. Nearly a full day early.
There are people queuing outside my local EBGames as we speak for the official release in 3 hours.

No it doesn't. One of the shops broke street date, which means that all the other shops can legally sell it. So we go it a day early.

good to hear about how much more depth the npcs have, i was afraid it would be pretty much like oblivion which isn't saying much . even in the USA i could go buy it on steam right now (edit: lies, it says it comes out november 10th but it won't be released until like 11:59:59 PM apparently. stupid steam!), but i have another month and a half to wait... i recently bought oblivion not 10 days ago for $25 because someone on youtube said i couldn't play skyrim until i'd beaten oblivion ;o; and i don't want to drop $85 in less than two weeks. oblivion will keep me happy until i can get skyrim for freee~

I'm getting it tomorrow at lunchtime, the copy's sitting there pre-ordered with my name on it...

My friend got it early, he said it beat his expectations. His expectations were loftier than mine...I might not survive this game.

Got mine in the post this morning as per Games usual day before release delivery. Been playing it all day. Loving it so far, but we'll see how well the story delivers and how well character progression works before it knocks morrowind off the top for me.

I'm saving skyrim for Christmas day. This year, it's me, 1 cat, and skyrim all day. No dodgy Christmas day TV for this man! Oh no! Just me, an xbox, and enough turkey to turn my fluffy friend (the cat) into a ball I can roll around the floor while suffering those moments of "loading"

I looked up some videos too. Looks like there are some logic bugs! I like this vid of how to steal. Perhaps NPCs should be coded to dislike having cauldrons put on their heads!

Wow, this game runs really well. I ran it on two computers, my Beast Machine and another computer. All I'll say is the 'another computer' running a core 2 duo, 2 GB ram, 8800 GT will run the game at 1920x1200 on high detail (no AA, but with FXAA) really fast. Only noticeable frame rate drops occurred in the indoor areas.

So anything above an 8800 GT will fly through this game.

Oh and this game is AWESOME !!!!

That's cool. They apparently have to actually see you with their eyes to catch you stealing. I can see a person making a MOD called "Potem" where with a click of a button everybody in the room you're in gets a pot on their head instantly.

I have it...I just lost three hours to it.

It's not even really like Oblivion. Everything's so different, all the things critiqued about Oblivion have been erased and replaced with new, better things.

Oh God, I'm gunna lose so much time to this game.

may i simply say that it runs on the same engine as oblivion and they started this after oblivion, yes it was made with console in mind but thats hardly the reason for the "bad" graphics

Sooo much fun! Been playing for about 3 hours and amazing I've been playing on Ultra High with little noticeable lag using 1 Radeon HD 5770. I want to see my FPS but for whatever reason ToggleDebugText doesn't work.

However, the game has randomly exited to desktop 2 or 3 times so far. No warning, no lag or freeze, just exits to the desktop. Not sure why, so has anyone else have this problem?

So i have an AMD Phenom II quadcore 3.4GHZ black edition, 8GB of DDR3, an HD5870 1GB. How well does skyrim run on any similar systems, will i be able to run it on full settings without a problem? I never had problems with games before exept Crysis1 still lags on DX10 mode and crysis2 dosent run well with the DX11 patch on full settings. So i am trying to figure out if i should upgrade here because when it comes to elder scrolls games i am serious about enjoying them on the max possible settings. And i am guessing there will be many graphics enchansment mods for it.

Well I'm playing in PS3 and have had numerous freezes which require physically unplugging the console as the buttons on the machine itself won't work. It's very frustrating to say the least.

I'm enjoying it so far but trying to complete the Missing in Action side quest seems impossible

Hmm.
Well I have a 9800gt, 8gb Ram, and a 2.4 Intel Quad Core and I can run this ultra settings, everything maxed out at 1920x1080 resolution.
No lag whatsoever.

Sadly I'm up to a point in the main quest which is jammed with a ton of bugs.
This is on update 1. Looked around and lots of people are complaining about it. Hope it gets a second update soon. I'm very anxious.

they work very fine, the "favorite" system could use some work (pretty much quickslot) and the perk system is weird with keyboard, but combined with the mouse its fine

the rest works very flawlessly ^^

Not TOO sure what you are trying to say here. But once an item/spell is favorited, you can push Q to access them, and from there, a number on your keyboard to hotkey.

The engine tends to do that, there is a file where you have to swap a number or two...I look into that later and let you know if I find something.

I've only had it switch to desktop once.

It's a great game, but there is one thing that annoys me quite alot. The fact that it seems that all the water in the world is flowing in 1 direction, even if the river is going in a different direction... I was being pushed to the side of the river in a piece where it was running straight. Besides that I find the loading screens for every house in the city a bit annoying, but livable with.

I've had it close randomly, but I think that was due to not having uninstalled multiple drivers and a grounding problem. It's not done so since I fixed the issues. I did notice some funny glitchy things, like the dialogue looping and the NPC's jigging around with missing textures xD.

I played for around 10 hours before I found out myself

This game is so large it's not funny.
Each quest line feels like it should have it's own game.
