So its been a while. i was busy with stuff. have some more unfinished concept art. Should i post it now or wait untill i find time to color my stuff?

But for those who watched the s5e1+2 i have a question. Is it me or am i getting this subtile feeling that twighlight is slowly moving to a darker side. I cant help but nitpick at the way her castle is a much darker/sinister looking on the inside rather than her old library. Also, i cant help but see that Twilight is too quick to resort to violence when faced with unknown. and the way she has no problem taking advantage of fluttershy(wont spoil for those who didnt watch it, those who did will know what i am talking about. And the whole season opener seems to be a setup for the rest of the season. I cant help but suspect that the mane 6 will grow more distant from each other as the way they are such good friends seems to be too forced in the season opener. also:
everyone else has a friendly supporting look. But Twilight's expression is just really evil-looking here.
What do you think?

I know that place. Its pretty much a shopping mall for childeren that was around since soviet union (established in 1957). They reopened it recentley after restoration. But here is some interesting folklore about the Lubyanka subway station where this mall is more famous for its secret underground KGB prisons (the KGB, now FSB headquarters is near this place) This station is also rumoured to be one of the acess points to Metro-2 the fabled secret underground complex of bunkers and tunnels spanning longer than all of public branches of the metro combined, for government use only which are being kept top secret to this day. If you attempt to terasspass into this underground complex, you will be shot on sight. Also this station suffered one of the worst terrorist attacks in recent history of terrorist attacks on the moscow metro in 2011. 4 stations were targeted in one day. Lubyanka was one of them. I was supposed to go trough that station on my way to work that day, but i asked for a day off the day before and my boss was cool enough to let me take a day off. Anyway Nice to see something happy pop up in this particularly darkish part of Moscow.

Just watched the first two episodes. That was way better than what I was expecting. Action, a good plot, a sappy ending. Cool.

I apologize for the double post in advance but new episode and all and i have something to say about it.

Its a strange and i would say a suspicious witchcraft they practice in Equesria of branding every pony based on their natural pre-disposition toward a certain concept, psychologically limiting a sentient being to representing something that is nothing more than an accumulation of different factors and efforts in their early lifetime which lead them to become what they are.

Do you realize that not only is such system of labeling and classification of ones abilities is subconsciously limiting a being into believing that there is a certain frame to what a they can become, but also holds back knowledge of the one's overall process of development, which by far does not cease once it reaches some set parameters?

Everyone's opinions, interests and lifestyles change over the course of their entire life in order to evolve and adapt oneself to the changing environment!

A sentient being, given enough practice, willpower and motivation can radically change who they are even surpassing themselves in anything they set their mind to.

To me this looks more like some covert social manipulation of every individual to keep them within a certain limited frame of ignorance!

I think a lot of it was just Apple Blooms subconscious fears manifesting in her dreams. Her not being able to live up to what is expected of her because of her Pest Pone buttmark. Her being cast out from her family because she doesn't have an apple-related thing. Her being rejected by her friends because she has a CM...
Gotta keep in mind that these are basically the fears of an angsty teenager growing up, fear of being rejected for who you are or who you'll become etc. ... and they're all unrealistic/exagerated.
Plus just look at the CMs of the mane six for example.. three butterflies? diamonds? apples? And the heck would RDs CM say about her special talents?

I think they just highlight a certain natural talent, something that would come natural to the pony in question anyways. Wasn't that basically the conclusion of the episode, that it's nothing to fuss about because what you make of it/your life is more important?

I just realized what I hated about the first two episodes of this season and why. Sunset Shimmer... err... Glimmer... whatever her name was could just take away their cutie marks like it was nothing and it made them entirely unremarkable and "useless". I can understand someone as powerful as Discord doing something like that, but how did this mare just casually rip a part of their soul from their bums. Like wth. I:

(Another thing to keep in mind, these cutie marks stem from the very beginning of the brand when this was just a collection of toys to make money from.)

Aaand lastly this ep made me realize we already had a Sweetie Belle dream episode (For Whom The Sweetie Belle Toils, I think s4e19) and Scootaloo (Sleepless in Ponyville). I like Luna's recurring role in dreams, it's cool.
Oh and s04e19 had Sapphire Shores in it with a recurring element of Dolphins (and as a plot element at the end), anyone think the derp-dolphin cutie mark in this episode was a callback to that?

I do indeed think it's just a highlight of their natural talents; Like mine would have something to do with socialing. I'm very good at social situations; Doesn't mean I necessarily want to work with people, but it would be the easiest route to go.
I'm more Interested in 3d; But art it not my "natural talent"; I've had to work hard for that.

So, I think it's much like RedFlames puts it.

The reason i question this concept is because i myself (and i am sure others as well) had several life-changing revelations during the lifetime which completely changed who I was be it a sudden epiphany or something that changed me over the course of my lifetime forcing me to abandon who i am and expand in a completely new direction. The idea that ponies become useless without their cutiemark (for the purpose of argument and exploring the lore of the world) lets keep the toy brand out of this) i say there is some magic that makes it easier to realize your talents by enforcing the subconscious knowledge of how to do something really well. For rainbow dash- her cutie mark would enforce her muscle memory helping her fly fast. Fluttershy would be her linguistic ability allowing her to communicate with animals. Pinkies would probably have something with controlling and regulating the flow of dopamine in her brain. The absence of their cutiemark results in serious screwing with the way their body has adapted to the world essentially bringing them into a certain neutral default state. I hope Glimmer's plan is to prove that ponies arent limited by their cutiemark by making them explore other fields of abilities that are not dictated by their cutiemark which i think is some kind of magic compass of the general direction an organism should follow to evolve in the most efficient way in harmony with their environment. If i was a pony, my cutiemark would probably be already obsolete and useless. I grew up and discovered i am good at repairing things but then i ended up in a society where its easier to buy something new than repair something. This forced me to explore other fields of what i can become. and as of today due to the environment i am surrounded by, i have the perfect opportunity to be a lawyer, a software developer, an IT tech support specialist, a financial advisor, a secretary, tons of opportunities in the arms industry these days, a company director (my current boss wants to retire and make me the owner of the small retail company i work in because the current general-director is a jerk.) and much much more.

So i havent been on for a while and i felt myself gradually loosing interest with the show. Not that the show isnt still good but it became too.. as twilight would say... CHEEZY D: and predictable. Untill i watcheed "do princesses dream of magic sheep". This was a genuine blaast to the past kind of episode which felt like the original return of harmony- theepisode which got me into liking this show in the fist place. It just brought upon me some nostalgic feeling.

Even tho this episode took part in the process of slowly eroding away my head canon about Luna secretley still being nightmare moon i loved it. And i think this episode should have been a 2-parter.

So, GalaCon 2015 was two weeks ago, and I think it was the first time two members of this thread met?! After 1306 days (3 years, 6 months, 29 days) we finally did it! (Calculating from my first post on the old thread till 2015-07-31) ...if only GalaCon was at the start of next month, then it'd 've been exactly 1337 days

But yeah I helped LeCommet and two other swiss bronies with the Pony Jeopardy panel. We didn't have as big an audience as we'd have liked because other panels were happening at the same time, but it was fun either way!

Sadly I haven't found any pictures of us yet except for this one:

TheComet on the left, I'm the dork staring at the ceiling (srsly I don't remember when or why this happened) and ACE and nerdinand who did the moderation. :3
Oh and my first plushie, the Pinkie there, yay! Sadly not fan-made so it's not the greatestest. But cheaper.

Plus I just put some swag on my wall:

(still had two posters from 2013 lying around, the center upper one is signed by Andrea Libman, w00t)

That's pretty much it. If I can make it I'll probably be at GalaCon next year again, also thinking about making a cosplay maybe... just in case I come up with something decent. Otherwise back to cosplaying myself.

[minor spoilers ahead] Caught up with ponies recently. I keep being amazed at how much the show keeps getting better. Cutie-Mark crusaders got their marks, the songs were awesome and that whole episode was great if a little rushed.
In my personal opinion, villans are supposed to be the stars of the show (because who would would watch starwars for Skywalkers whiney attitude?) and Diamond Tiara was shaping up to be an awesome villain for the crusaders. Especially in this episode which i think added a whole new dimension to dimond tiara's character. She is no longer the comical 2-d villain that she started out to be. (btw Tiara's mother has a pretty awesome design) This episode moved her character forward a lot. and then boom.... out of nowhere... redemption. right then and there. Thanks Hasbro you ruined a perfectly good villain. I only hope that she wasn't serious and will remain a jerk. Because now that the crusaders got their mark, Tiara and Spoon is now on equal grounds with the crusaders and they need a a good villain to compete against.
I used to hate crusader episodes but this takes episode them to a whole new level that makes me exited for their upcoming episodes
