Well...my manga collection...I don't have one but a friend of mine has the entire collection of DarkStalkers and Animatrix. Both of them are very good I must say (especially darkstalkers for all those action anime fans, and for a girl I like from those series... )

@Exeat: lol, that's nothing...here I was in an games shop seeking for a PSOne game and close to me was a little child (I was 13 at that time...he must have been 10-9 yr old) and he took the Resident Evil Nemesis CD from the store, showed him to his mother, his MOTHER! and she bought it to him, BOUGHT IT!...and a friend of mine (14 yr old) and his little brother (8-9 yr old) watch Happy Tree Friends...OMG...what a wasted world is this...isn't it?

James L Brooks is American (Producer)
Matt Groening is American (Creator)

the show is drawn and voice in LA and originally appeared on the Tracy Almund Show which although she is english it was filmed in LA.
So... yeah your wrong and you've been corrected.

Quote: "And furthermore, we certain can blame their society. The US certainly has a market for it, and that's bad enough, but it dosen't originate here. "

No you can't. America has a market for it because like it or not there is a large following for Japanimé and Manga.
Just because you have a soapbox to stand on and shout of crap about other countries doesn't mean you have to... or are even close to right.

As for Japan's problems;
Question HAVE ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY BEEN THERE? Cause I have, and I know the guys in this forum that actually live there haven't posted in this thread.

you want to know what's wrong with the American culture; simply put... Mouse is!
It is people like him which are the ones that dosile the entire country, they're the loudest ones in the entire culture and as such are the ones that end up having the voice, and being what are exposed to foreign countries.

A pure ignorance of everything outside of thier bubble because they solely believe that you can learn everything you need to know from a book, from a television and from hear'say (internet) ... media which can be manipulated to whoever has written it.
Oftenly having a chip on thier shoulder so damn big, that they get mad at the slightest things they do not understand and as such damn it; but try to put across that they actually understand what they're talking about trying to convince every man, woman and child that they are the correct voice.

Japanese have censorships, they are relatively stick; and even if you are old enough to see something what happens is it is blurred so you cannot fully recognise what is going on.

Sorry but alot of people who have spoken in this thread against Japanime trying to prove some large scheme point, are full of crap.
If you don't like it, fine you don't like it... I don't like damn Mushrooms, you know what i do with Mushrooms; give them to my brother who does like them and not go around claiming to everyone that Mushroom cause cancer becuase i read it on the internet on http://www.theoriesforbigomists.com

------------------------------------

Hey has anyone here seen Ghost in the Shell Innocence yet?
if you haven't... DO SO... NOW!
i didn't think they could top the depth of the original, which quite frankly was a pure landmark film; but the story go much further down the rabbit hole.

Same goes for Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children; questions are answered, even more are asked. That and Sefi (Sephiroth 'B') is just one hell of an awesome character.

So my mom let me get it when I was ten. Really Tony Hawk is more violent than resident evil. In tony Hawk you bail and there's blood everywere.

funny story, my grandmother was watching me and my sis play ssx tricky and she was complaining that the violence wasn't realistic enough, lol. she was saying they should get bruised and break bones and stuff, and my other grandmother was watching us play twisted metal black and she saw the dead body twitching in the back of one of the cars and laughed. lol.

oh, and i've never been to japan, but i once talked to a girl who lived in japan for a while, and she said she felt so safe walking around tokyo at night, she says it's so nice and safe feeling there.

Manga: .Hack novel 2 (tokyopop)
Chobits (all novels)
Card Captor Sakura (all novels, and my sis owns it)
Naruto (Scanlations in PC)
... nothing else...

Videos: ...None

But is Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner included??? I mean, it's a breath taking game with anime cenematics..... (But not on ZOE 1)

Many said that anime are sometimes violent and even a kid does those violent acts, but for me, look at this: my nephew wants to watch cartoons but the cartoons he watch are: spiderman, hulk, batman, etc. as a result, he even punch me in the face when I just said "go downstairs and eat" (It hurts y'know)
While in japan, the kiddy cartoons there are really kiddy (example: Panyo panyo Digi Charat, I can't barely watch it!)
That's just my opinion...

I don't like the gameplay of FFX-2...(ZOE2 is better) But I do like Rikku a lot! (I posted 4 fanarts in Rpgfan)
Project: The Mask of Zorah (Featuring: Sora;Cloud;Rinoa;Zidane;Yuna;Taru-Taru;Bahamut)

Lol, I was just watching the Tagalog dub of Dbz. We like watching it for the comedy factor. "Ako si Master Pogi!" lol. The Majinbu saga is the only part worth watching.

My steps kids never got into American cartoons, they grew up on Tagalog and English translations of anime. My son is even more of an anime/manga fan.

I think one my favorites is FLCL. Yes, the Japanese language version (subtitled) is just as wacky as the English dub.

Ahh... Tagalized anime. Featuring some of the voices of the same voice actors you hear on the TV network's advertisements. The voices of kids can sound particularly annoying.

Japan was one of the most peaceful places to be, but as bloody and violent animes are getting more populair, its also getting more dangerous.

But I think I will feel safer walking around in Japan than in Amsterdam

Btw, anyone seen the Neon Genesis Evangelion series? They rule

Van Helsing has no relation to Hellsing the anime...
I would know since I watched Alcuard whip demon ass on the action channel.
I luv anime and many people think I'm weird for it, but who cares.
And not all anime is violent, take Hayao Miyazaki, all his movies, save Nausicaa and Princess Monoke are disney style happy kids movies.
Not the sterotype Siayuki, FMP, Evangelion. Also Hayao is known by non anime fans too, I mean he gets frickin acadmey awards and best pictures at the oscars and berlin film fests...
He also displays messages in his movies.
But anyways I luv anime like:
Hellsing
Rurouni Kenshin
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Sayuki
Last Exile
Gate Keepers 21
Shaman King
dotHack Sign//
dotHack Twighlite//
Bleach..
I could go on and on but I won't.

Got anime?
I do.

I don't like the direction this board is taking, lists of anime to prejudice against it and violent outbursts in japan.
What's up with everyone?
Anime is coll and interesting we shouldn't have to care and supposidly side effecxts that cause people to lash out, sheesh!

Got anime?
I do.

You've get the same opinion base if someone posted how Marilyn Manson (sp?) what the coolest thing since Alice Cooper. People have their opinions and are entitled to them. If I had to describe my liking of anime in one word, it would be Style.

Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson... who? Are they like, from the 70s or something? I'm not old enough to understand what you people are talking about...

Me, I just like anime/manga/the art totally out of preference. I like it, and it feels right to me, so even if someone flames me for it I still won't change my opinion. It's like... Pepsi vs. Coke...

Marilyn Manson is a shock rocker from the 2004's. Alice Cooper's older but is just as ..um... wierd.

And I think Marilyn Manson and Alice Cooper are just circus freaks of the media, too comercialised.
