IMHO I don't see how anyone can favour creationism (or christianity/any other religion) over science. What is there about religion other than what has been written down by men? How can you belive in something you can't ever prove? And how can there be 'eternal life' when your dead you've died, you rot and are eventually forgotten. Again IMO every single religion on the planet is just a way of controlling people to make sure society works, i.e. the ten commandments don't steal, don't kill - don't do anything that could harm socitey. And all the rules about God are just there to enforce the fact that these rules have to be obeyed therefore God must be obeyed.

If there was indeed a God everyone would be Jewish, from the dawn of time, but instead there is Paganism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddisim, Hinduism, etc etc etc!

There are other religions (including Athiesm) because of free will, evil is allowed to happen because of the devil.

As Jebus says (with a very approprite name I think) aethism isn't a religion! And rouge, what you just said makes no sense. If we have free will then how can the devil make us do evil things?

Urgh...

Quote: " IMHO I don't see how anyone can favour creationism (or christianity/any other religion) over science."

It's not favoring creationism over science, and it's ignorance like that that makes evolution so popular. Creationism does not defy science. I believe macroevolution to be a fundamentaly flawed scientific thoery with virtually no evidence for its case. On the other hand, there is a lot of scientific evidence that suggests the human race and the ecosystem itself were created. It's not a matter of 'science or idiocy'.

Furthermore, your comment about "if there was a god" is both insulting and ignorant. It's insulting because you're automatically assuming that "if there was a god" it'd be the ones the jews worship, and you're assuming all the other religions would be wrong. It's ignorant because you're assuming you would completely understand how a supreme being's mind works. It's like saying "if there was a hidden country called Atlantis, they'd have nuked all of us by now"-- however ridiculous or unlikely the premise may be, that's beside the point; your conclusion has no supporting argument.

Sheesh...

really, what did you expect, rogue? everyone to say "man i really doubt they ARE possible! there must be a god! thanks for showing me the light!"? come on. especially when people started saying "creationism is crap" and you sank to their level and said "science is crap". if you're LOOKING for a mature discussion, be prepared to MAKE IT a mature discussion.

Now after all that, I know I am really going to get you going with this one:

But gravity isn't caused by quantum fluxutations out of our spheres of influence, whereas higher levels of energy that were to supposedly metamorph into, for lack of a better term to describe negative atoms, 'shards' of meta-plasma would enter a completely different level of reality. Ever heard of identical planes theory? If the portals aren't identical, the planes aren't identical. It's kosher.

That's a contradiction.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume your grammar is just really, really bad. If that's so and you were trying to say "I just I won't convince you, not that I can't do it", well, if it's any comfort we all really believe that .

Believe it or not, scientists have proven we're technically not humans. Because the technical definition of humans has a slight difference in the DNA to us. So we're not human anymore.

We should evolve into cyborgs, and be able to write programs mentally, and be able to create textured 3D models with a single thought, and broadcast them to each other, and store them on flash memory in the skull. And we should fly. Definatly should be able to fly.

Its pretty easy to disprove the theory of evolution considering all the flaws in it and considering that the majority of scientists disaprove of it anyway. And even if evolution did exist it would have been created by god anyway....you cant win.

Can someone please explain to me how evolution can be disproved? Everyone here says it has/can but won't actually tell us about it. Besides creationism says the Earth is 4000 years old - not enough time for anything to evolve if the theory is correct.

creationism doesn't say for sure that the earth is 4000 years old(i think it's more like 6000)

but even if it did, 4000 years is plenty of time for micro evolution to occur(which it has) and i believe in that...

macro evolution is just plain immpossible...

could somebody else please "prove" evolution wrong to him? i don't have the time...

ok, so which is more logical here... we were all plopped magically on earth.. or we all came from a single life that mutated and evolved...

Think you people.. i doubt the earth has only been around for a few thousand years, we've got rocks older than that. Or did somebody magically make those as well?

I'm not saying god doesn't exist, but why would he go to all the trouble to fabricate things, when he'd be perfectly well and able to do it in a natural fasion?
