Uhh... all threads go off-topic, there's nothing you can do to stop it and to be honest, there really is no reason to stop it. Just because a certain post may not be related to the thread at hand, it doesn't mean it won't be useful to somebody else who comes by and reads the thread. I don't find it hard to believe that someone may enter this topic and see the post about a Mid() function not existing and decide they may too benefit from such a function, both myself and CattleRustler's posts would've helped that person. Just because it's not on-topic, doesn't mean it should be deleted, I can understand flaming and offensive posts being deleted because they're not constructive but just because a post doesn't suit the thread owner, doesn't mean it should be wiped from existance.

Imagine if the moderators had to go through every single thread and delete every single off-topic post, that'd be ludicrous and a complete waste of our time. It's not hard to skip over off-topic posts so there's no reason to delete them. We've discussed this in the moderator's forum and IanM put it very well: "We're not editors", it's not our job to delete off-topic posts.

Haha, ok. Since I am such the bad girl here, I shall leave all public affairs up to my partner. He seems to do a much better job anyway. I think this is best. I will treat the forums as I do IRC.

It has been fun. I hope you enjoy the IDE when it is released.
I want to thank everyone for their support.
Cheers!

Glad to see this is still going strong, and it's looking very promising! Can't wait to try this out ^_^

@DG: There's no reason for you to leave the forums, god knows Raven has had his fair amount of bust-ups here (not to mention myself), and it'd be a shame to see you go here aswell.

Yes, of course, because after the scat pictures that were posted all over the forums last week, what you did was clearly a lot worse then that...

I am back after a nice break, but I come back to see problems.
It appears that somehow I've been left in charge of PR for now, but I'll get to the bottom of this later once I have had a chance to talk to DarkGirl about what has gone on.

I would suggest a number of the new moderators review what they have done over the past week though.
Sorry, but you guys have to remember that you are no longer pure users. You can no longer simply sit down, as what you please, how you please and wait for someone else to clean up the mess. Nor does it mean that you are no exempt from your actions altogether.

I will talk to the moderator I asked to actually keep an eye on this thread about what has gone on, but until I have found out what has happened; I am going to ask certain users posts are stripped no matter the context and also moderators posts.

Everyone else is free to post thier suggestions and personal coding preferences though.
I look forwards to seeing what people like and feel would benifit thier applications/game programmings.

Alright, i've got the full story now.

This thread will be locked pending deletion.
It will return for suggestions, but things are going to be looked into here.

There was nothing wrong here, but some background politics are at fault which I hope to sort out shorty.

Sorry for any inconvience.
(DavidT will lock the thread, anyone has a problem with that take it up with me.)
