Holy beans, you mother loving tards

Read my post from yesterday about how to GET YOUR FILES AND DATABASES.

And for the blind I will quote it:

Quote: "You can still get your files/databases:

FTP:
ftp://67.19.68.100/

phpMyAdmin:
http://67.19.68.100/~dbspot/phpMyAdmin/

Same logins."

TADDAAAAAA

So for FTP you will replace ftp.dbspot.com with 67.19.68.100 AND ALL WILL BE WELL.

Remember, Jimmy still loves you.

oh joy! my avatar stopped working today, and i tried going to my site, and it was gone, and i thought "oh boy, DBspot is down again". but the site was gone too.

nice of you to let us know with an email jimmy

good thing i've got my site backed up on my computer (the FTP works but i don't need it, i'll just delete everything off the server).

without a place for my avatar.... again.

OK enough of that damn DBP fanboy banner. i'm NOT a DBP fanboy in any way. i haven't used DBP in over a year, and i don't really plan on using it again.

I can't access anything on my website now. I host my own now but I will host a website for those in need of a website for now (but there will be a file limit depending on what kind of hard drive I get) so please only use me until you find something else. I would reccomend free-space also (http://free-space.myftp.org/)
who ever wants my hosting plese email me through yahoo (marcus_e_johnson@yahoo.com) thank you and remeber please only use mine until you find a host that you can use

err btw Jimmy said subdomains weren't working, so go to www.stormwave.net and add a slash and ur domain name to access that, also go to www.stormwave.net/phpMyAdmin

edit: www.stormwave.net/net2ftp doesnt seem to work so use Smart FTP from www.smartftp.com

Umm. When you guys get internet access don´t your ISPs give you 100 or 50megs of webspace? They all do that in Spain and England. What´s wrong with using those for sigs and avatars?

mir - most modem (56k) internet plans don't have webspace, and like neofish said, it depends on the plan.

i just realized that since we got broadband, we do in fact have some webspace.. i just don't know how to get to it, so i've emailed them!

The words "good web host" and "free" don't go together. There's no such thing, and if there ever are (i.e. DBSPOT), their uptimes are not the best and they tend to go down (i.e. DBSPOT). Cough up the $6 or $7 a month you cheapskates and get a real host--- I use 'em!

Free 2 Surf (F2S) used to have free webhosting (including PHP/MySQL support, etc.), it was bloody awesome, no ads or banners, 99.9% uptime and it was fast as anything. Unfortunately after several years they stopped providing it for free and used the excuse that it was only a 'Trial Service', lol. It was cool too because your subdomain was: name.f2s.com - Not very long or hard to remember.

I remember when I was on namezero.com ... back then, I had free space, domain name for free, with just a banner to add on my Link-page.

But now they charge for it

oi jimmy i know things cost money - i have just bought the two enhancement packs (£27.01 the most i've spent inside a month) but what i was think is if we could make an agreement on something that is mutually beneficial then both of us would be better off.

man don't this just suck nto for me but for all these people i mean i have seen over 100 sigs and avatars appear as a tiny x it is madness the best thing about self hosting is that you can usually actyually fix the problem instead of waiting for a response that you are lucky to getr within 1 week and the best part is there are almost no limits the onyl limit is hdd space and the speed of your connection

also all you people who self host thru ip addresses use no-ip.com

http://free-space.myftp.org for free ftp
website hosting and e-mail 60mb for ftp/webste 70mb for e-mail

I knew things costed money...I just wasted A LOT on some silly things like: Delphi 7, A modeller and ummmm well a lot of other stuff. I will earn the money back in a couple o weeks (5 weeks) but it is worth it, the poll closes 5 days from now so vote on the space I should provide!!!

yay my ISP webspace is up welcome back, my avatar!

jimmy - could you have at least sent an email saying that DBSpot went down? that's kind of................. insert colorful adjective here. i know that a service like that is impossible to support unless you are independently wealthy, but i would've thought that you'd've sent out a "i regret to inform you" letter when it went down!
