Actually the shadows do fall on the other pyramids. I'm not sure whether it's a nice computer render, a good photoshop fake or a ridiculous level of dedication, though I'm leaning towards the first

Very funny Rick

Edit-- Yes, it's got to be the first, as there's no depth of field and the pyramids are all perfect .

I think the biggest give away that it's a render is the way the shadows fall, the only way to get them to all fall parallel would be to have a long, candescant light extending the length of the scene. In real life, a lamp (and even sunlight) shoots the light waves outwards so the shadows would spread outwards, depending on where the light source was.

That, and there's the mere fact that the pyramids in that image don't have the white edges that are visible in the cut-out design.

Is the texture just rotated by 120 degrees?

btw: this little "compo" here.. Is it meant to be making a db pyramid and using it in a real situation or can computer generated be viable too?

Here's a zip with 2 modifications of the origional(cutout), 1 model in 3dc and x, and a seemless background.

Nobody looked at mine? *sniff* Somebody hand me a tissue...

j/k Those pictures are all really funny!

{EDIT} Didn't see Rich post. Can our pictures be based on a real photo but with CG effects (like mine) or does it have to be 100% real?

So what should I do for my next picture (if I do one)?

Hamish - just outta idle curiosity.. What on earth did you pour on that pyramid to make it burn like that? Brandy or something?!

Hmm.. I'm having an idea involving the pyramid and sparklers.. I'm also seeing the moments after that trying to explain the situation to the Fire Brigade..
