(young programmer, if you want to say something that isn't adding to the story but is related, just put it in brackets under your contribution, rather than in a separate post. It makes it a whole lot less painful for whoever has to piece the contributions together - probably Flindiana, since he started it - and stops the whole thread going down the pan for a little while longer. )
