Indeed it is like that in French, except the problem is that many words and phrases sound similar. The reason I believe French is harder is because a couple of French people I know say that it is

Also I would imagen German is hard, because of how you have to construct sentences around verbs.

Ah see you all seem to forget that India used to be a British colony - most people in India can speak English. In fact a girl I know who was born and raised in India (then moved here to London) told me that she spoke more English than any other language at home (even while in India). In China there are 300 Million people that speak English - so in total there is a hell of a lot of people that speak English worldwide, e.g:

300 Million Chinese
300 Million American
X Million Canadians
60 Million British
X Million Austrilian
300 odd on the Falklands
X Number of Indians
X Million English speakers with English as a second langage (discounting Chinese and Indians)

More than a billion I'd say...

I did actually say that english is one of the most widely used languages in the world. But don't forget, the British Empire conquered a lot of the world and 'forced' english into most of those countries.

The good thing is the Chinese learn English from REAL English profs (from England), so their English is, in my opinion, more advanced than North America's bastardization of the language.

Is that bias i hear i guess you only listin to american rap then eh? you knwo not everyone in america goes "YO what up G!?" but in some parts of america saying "Hello" will just get you shot. (why i don't know ask the people who do the shooting).

I'm not referring to that slang English, but rather all the other improper slang we use here. When I was in England I actually felt proud of the language... but here in North America I feel we speak a whole other subset.

I'm rather proud of our version of english. There is no nonsense like there is with proper grammer. Only in the english language can something have the exact same spelling and a totally different sound. Thats BS. for instance the words through and rough. See in redneckville that would be thru and ruff. Alot easier to learn how to say.

I meant grammer. I have yet to hear anyone pronounce it gram mar, it is always pronounced gram mer. At least here it is (and the way we were taught to pronounce it). I'm a big fan of spelling something how it sounds instead of making up a 1000 rules of how the same spelling should sound differently when used a 1000 different ways. The language needs simplifying. Just my opinion.

Reminds me of that old email which basically said the EU would make english easier. It gave examples of each stage of simplification. In the end it sounded like a german speaking english. Arf...

It could be an extremely clever method of skivving off work that the original designers put in. Bung in a jelly, go for a quick fag, come back and fill in that overtime sheet... I work for a software house in travel. A similar thing would be, hypothetically speaking, going to a holiday shop and making a booking as a Mr Herbert Stronginthearm to
Syndney. If you then found that your account had been credited (rather than debited), say for example, £4250.28, then a fortunate mistake has been made. And everyone knows *computers* always go wrong.

also when they sleep their inner lid closes..how do i know this?

my cat got bit right above the eye (missed the eye ball thankfully) and so for some reason the skin is sctreched up there making it's left eye less covered then it's right eye...so when it sleeps it's left eyelid doesn't close all the way and you can see it's inner eye lid closed (which looks gross btw)
