I really have no clue why I enjoy CS so much. Its just one of those things that happened. One day I was playing HL1, and I wanted to play a mod... and I found CS, and I enjoyed it.
Things I enjoy about it though are:
- The "rounds" system, so when I die, I usually have time to take a piss or get a drink, and not be kicked for being "AFK".
- The slightly tactical and deathmatch mix.
- The objectives, I'm always more fufilled with a game that makes me do something to win, even if its the same thing every round.
- A large chunk of the community. Then again, theres also that chunk of the community I wish would die
- The way the maps are designed, as to where you can choose one route and its a complete death slaughter arena, and if you choose another its a more tactical sneak around area.
- The way I'm not yelled at if i feel like camping (cause I'm playing crappy with my usual sneak around the side and blast them with the M4/AK) with a high powered sniper rifle (AWP, I don't use Auto-Snipe or Auto-Shotgun) and not get bitched at for it as its part of the game.
That and another thing that draws me to it, is that alot of people I know (around my town) play it. Its one of those games you can just hop on for a few rounds, frag a friend, and feel happy.
Thats just my opinion though... as I said before, to each his own.

we all prefer Perfect Dark / Goldeneye's multiplayer madness."
We never really got into the PD multiplayer, but for about 2 years everyday when me and my brother got home from school or work, we'd sit around in the living room, and play GoldenEye for hours on end. I was usually 006 and he'd be Oddjob cause he's an ass. The reason we never really got into perfect dark was that by the time it came out and we had it, we were always too busy to play it. We played a few times, but nothing to memorable.
Now a days, atleast once a week, we meet eachother on CS: Source and frag eachother for hours
I guess thats whats appealing to me about CS: Source, is the people I play it with.
I'll get my brother to say what appeals to him about it, see if we can draw a conclusion about why people like this game.
