I like the Welsh, I like any nation that can laugh at itself - and they sure as hell have a laugh . One thing I've noticed is that a lot of people will try to compare your countries, but the Welsh tend to be too busy appologising for the state of theirs!.

I must say that they made me feel very welcome when I went there a few years ago - in fact I can't recall a friendlier welcome from anywhere.

The border runs through part of the city! Trust me, I know!

But, as I said, aside from that getting to Wales does involve a fair few mins on motorway. Seems the Welsh border hits the west edge just a bit then suddenly retreats.

You think? Had to go there for Geography field trip - looked a bit past its prime. Just a bunch of OAPs sitting on benches getting blown about.

Reminds me of "romanes eunt domus" and "romani it domum".

I take it this wasn't Anglesey? Couldn't meet a more unfriendly bunch if you tried. BTW, I just lived there for yonks, my family come from south wales. Annoying dad remembering how good a time he had in his early RAF days when he had his last posting *23 years ago*. Twit. It was either there or Austria apparently. Up till that point we lived in Italy and civilised areas of the UK (ie. england). So he must have got bored of good weather, friendly people (or just *any* bloody people whatsoever), and shops. Grrr....

Cheers

Heh, I had a reading age of something like 19 when I was 9. Then we moved to Anglesey. First spelling test consisted of "Cat", "Dog" etc. Grief. At least I never ended up sounding like the t*ssers. Unlike my sister, who has the same stupid accent as those half liverpoolean half crappy north walean sounding twits. Once again, thanks dad.

Cheers

I'm posting in this thread just to say that I haven't read so much as ONE post in this thread. I am in fact totally uninterested in it. I feel this should be a more common viewpoint.

Thank you for listening. Good night.

This thread is going nowhere, and as much as Raven enjoys composing his 5000-word posts, a dead thread is a dead thread.

Locked.

Aww, this thread was fun. Not really a flame war, just a discussion about Anglesey
