Hi Pricey. Just looked the whole topic and I think your RPG looks very promising. Infact, I'm very encouraged by it.

Me and some college friends hope to create an RPG as part of our course (BTEC National Diploma for I.T. Practicioners, 2nd year). We will be using DBPRo. While we realise that it will be a mountainous task, we're willing to give our all to get some results by the end of the course. Some original music has already been composed and the story is looking quite strong. I'll probably post my own topic if anything happens.

I can't wait to play the demo when it is released.

I created my own level editor & file format. This is highly recomendable for greater flexability.

Well, I'm taking a break from this game for a while to go back to my roots and produce a range of quality 3D classic arcade games ^^

I am hoping to go commerical with these, so they take priority for now.

Work will be resumed in the near future ^^

just download the source and put the dll file in you game.
it'll work. dark basic pro works with dbc commands. Thanks Price, your the man

Omg Filindiana Jones, Like today at school, I totally was able to get a life, someone offered and now I totally have one. Off of that subject, does anyone model really well or atleast have a knight-like character that I can use for my game. It must be able to walk for now. I'd greatly appreciate it. I am adding parts in my game on how to walk in buildings and crap like that. Hopefully I can post a demo on just one town soon. Inventory sounds really easy. I don't own DBP but know some commands like, Global,Item1,Item2,etc... And then just throw in some commands like, if Item1=1 (Which means you picked up that item), then Print "Good job, you got my stick back for me", that wasn't the actual correct code. Anyway, Pricey, I totally think that you are doing a superb job on your game. I mean, you did all that and you are only 13. Imagine what you can do once you goto college or something in that sort. Anyway keep us posted Pricey. I totally love you work and that once you have become a DBP master, I recommend that you go into learning the programming language called C++; I personally would've of liked it to be called something like A++, but hey C++ is pretty cool name. Not a good grade to get on you Algebra 2 test but hey, it is managable. And dude, you still haven't sent me your world editor. You probably are very busy being in the eighth grade and all. Good luck once you go into highschool, lol you probably are in high school. I still think that you need to keep posting up stuff on progress. I can tell the game should be sold and not for free download but hey, its your choice. Also before I end this super long post, who does your game models. I need a good modeler for my games but I haven't had all the sucess in the world. I think you are very talented and hope that all of your projects go in success in your years coming up.
END OF LONG AND VERY BORING POST... (And P.S Flindiana Jones, I now do have a life, even though I posted this long.) Cya all in 20 years once I work for Zipper Interactive, I love Socom.

lol, you will have imense difficulty implementing my level editor into your game. its totally intregated and its in DBPro which will not be compatible with DBC.

thanks for your comments about my work

Hi again Pricey,
For now you project is looking excellent, I feel that it is close having a demo come out. BTW where do you get all of your character models. I need some on mine and will definetly credit you if you show me where you find yours at. And some ideas, Your building models look way already done. Right now I would post up quite some more screenies since everyone seems so anxious to see what you have currently completed. Besides my model question, are you using cartography shop 5 for you dungeon parts, or is that just the great feature of your level editor you developed. Sorry to bug you once again with all these questions. I like how you did lots of things in this project and am hoping that you may someday release games with as good as quality the game you are making now seems. Well I gotta go, I am going to polish up on all my roots for making games. I still need to full comprehend arrays. That's my only problem, every thing else seems every easy except arrays. Oh yea, if you need any help with anything in your project, feel free to message back to me. I wouldn't mind being a beta tester .
Later Pricey.

Not at all, I mean, the models can be whatever size that Pricey wants them at- some people in real life have small houses, I think. Well anyway, Pricey where are your MODELS ARE. . Sorry to bug you again about that. Well cya all.

Oh that sucks, cause when I received Dark Basic, I never got Dark matter. Man I need a male and female model with the textures. ?? Could you post one with textures and I will edit the textures. They won't be the ones you would've sent. If you can thanks a bunch. I owe you.

...You could start your game with placeholder graphics, and later on when you post here in the WIP ask some modeler to make you some, or just buy dark matter yourself and get all the other cool models that come with it as well.

Well I don't mind buying Dark Matter, it's the fact I don't have 25 bucks to shell out. That way I was hoping Pricey could let me download some of the models he has, and I totally retexture them so they are definetly unrecognizable. Other than that, the only thing holding up my game is game models. I totally need some. MODs MAKE THIS BOARD A STICKIE. The game will be very promising and should be near completion. Cmon Jess, add some glue and put a trophy on it. Cya Pricey.

Hey, since Ian said that Newbies can learn off this, I might as well tell some tips that I know that will work for newbies.
Okay make something like this

ya see, if you run over an object, just put in code that you deleted the object then let's say "money = 1" or whatever. And make a special popup for it. It's all in the dedication to the art of the program called Dark Basic. THANK YOU LEE YOUR ONE OF MY HEROS. But sorry, you will never by my ultimate hero, Richard Marcinko is my ultimate hero, search his name on google, or msn, whatever you want. Psst, I recommend dogpile.com also, 4 l33t search engines in ONE. What's greater than that. Later all

I got one thing to say...WOW lol. It's looking very nice and I think that if you intend to sell the final copy of the game...I'd sure as heck buy. It's more like the traditional rpg's then most of the newers ones out now, and I find that attractive in a game...oh how i miss my nintendo and original zelda

If you stand not beside me, then I assume you to be my enemy.

The brand new engine has very almost been completed... its mainly the GUI that I'm doing now but most things can be ported over from the new engine with a bit of tweaking...

Then there's a few things to do, mostly polishing the graphics... then a DEMO!!!

OK, This is my To-Do list before a playable demo

Weather (Transfer from old engine)
Houses (Transfer from old engine)
NPC Matrix Collision
Music (Transfer from old engine)
Projectiles (Base code already in place)
Magic Items (Base code already in place)
Shops (Transfer from old engine)
Enemies (Base code already in place)
Dungeons
Sound Effects

It looks like a lot, but most of the code for it is already done and just needs fine-tuning and having graphics added to it (its mainly all cubes right now )

The only really BIG things are the Dungeons and Sound Effects.
You should all be enjoying a beautiful demo around the end of the month providing all goes well
