'Steal this album' is there best album IMHO. There is alot of good stuff on the self titled SOAD too, (before Toxicity), but it's not very well known.

SOAD apart,

'Kid A' by Radiohead
'Vertigo of Bliss' by Biffy Clyro

Katie Holmes says, check the Program Announcements board for the new Dumbo & Cool demo.

I love Rock (mostly american college rock & punk rock tho I'm afraid) and Hip-hop (good stuff, not generic "i have the most cars and hos and bling" crud) I like these forms mostly because the lyrics can actually say something meaningful.

Obviously everything that comes from Ninthlife Records is stunning, especially 3paw, the best rapper in the world, ever. (hehe wonders if anyone will get the reference)

more popular rappers like 50 cent

Hi there,
Work is slow today so this has turned into quite a list.

Rock:
KORN (Love this band, its a good honest racket)
SOAD (Chop suey is one of my all time favourites)
VoiVod

Industrial:
NIN (Before the fragile)
LARD
Ministry (Before Jesus built my hotrod)
Pop Will Eat Itself
front line assembly
front 242

Electronic:
Autechre
Crystal Method
Apex Twin

Soul:
Otis Redding
Wilson Pickett
Bill Withers
Spencer Davis Group (Yes, i know its R&B really)

Funky stuff:
Ohio Players
The O'jays
KC and the sunshine band (Sorry, it's a sickness)

Punk:
The Sex Pistols
Dead Kennedys
The exploited
Rancid
The Cure (I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Goth)
The Damned
No Means No
The Pixies

Rap:
Cannibal Ox
The Beasty Boys
Roots Manuva

Classical:
Tchaikovsky (The nut cracker suit is one of my favourites in classical)

I love any competent rendition of anything by Andre Segovia, Fernando sore and Francisco Teragga. (I used to teach classical guitar)

Jazz:
Miles Davis
Weather report
Count Basie

Dance:
The Prodigy (New cd rules, their best since the Prodigy Experience)
The Chemical Brothers
Eat Static
Orbital
Early Underworld

Ambient/Mellow stuff:
The Orb
Ozric Tentacles

Contemporary:
Steve Reich (Useless piece of info - The floaty tune on the orb single "Little Fluffy Clouds" is a loop from Steve Reich's masterpiece "Electric Counterpoint")
John Mclaughlin (Shakti, The Mahavishnu Orchestra)

Country:
I find it strangely creepy or seedy or something. Albert Lee is a great guitar player but its still soding country music.

'Roots manuva' is a rap artist from the UK, but he's not your typical rapper.

He appears in a song on the Leftfield album, 'Leftism' - I think it's Track 1, Release the Pressure. (Leftfield are a DJ duo from the late 90's, who's music has appeared in the black and white Guiness advert (they are still waiting...) and in the early 02 adverts, amongst other things)

Old rock like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, T Rex, Queen, Focus, I don't much like solid guitar music mostly taken up by solos. New rock like Franz Ferdinand, the Darkness are a good laugh , Jet, White Stripes, Incubus, Gorillaz, some of Muses stuff is good. As pop rocky as I go is Ash, although I actually like some of Robbie Williams' stuff (shhh, don't tell anyone ). Bits of everything here and there, I like a few of the Daft Punk songs, a few Outkast songs I've heard have actually been quite good imo. I like jazz and blues also, James Brown . I could list tons more bands, but you get the jist.

Its annoying because i copied a load of music from my classical CDs onto the PC. I had to name every one of them because Wondows media player couldn't find the album info. Then after i renamed 61 classical songs(Name and artist) Winows media player renames them all back to Track 01 Track 01 ect

I like Queen,pink floyd,hendrix,steve vai,Yngwie Malmsteen and most other rock/blues/metal with good guitar playing involved(i'm a guitarist)

But, i hate rap music because i believe there is no skill involved just someone speaking as fast as they can. And how many times can someone fit 'yo' into one song.

Jozers you have got it right. I can't take it, especially when somebody blasts it while gunning their engine down the street. Rap is crap without the 'c'.
