Great! I really like the game so far. The only thing that annoys me is the way he "shakes" back when he hits the objects. Although, I'm sure this will be fixed as this is only a trial only pre-worked game. Other than that and the camera, good job so far.

YES!!! You can download the game now! The camera has been fixed. I'm working on the object collisions now, and that should be fixed in the next demo, hopefully at the end of November!

What did you think of the audio? The jumping? Characters?

Thanks! I spent a lot of time working on the voicing and audio. One whole day was spent with my friends just creating voices and transposing and saving to .mp3s!

Now, I'm working on level 2, which has been dramatically changed, can't wait to upload screenshots!

Nice concept, but you really need to work on the collision and the gravity. Is this made in dbc? if so, try the gravity and collision code used in the sliding collision demo. I find it works very well for platformers. And I think you need to lower the sync rate just a bit.

Good start, keep working.

Lol, I left it on my computer (the game was still running) to get a snack. I come back and my sister was playing it. She thought it was fun! Then she started talking about all the bugd. i told her this was only a weeks progress. lol! (she is only 12 so she is easily entertained!)

I'm still working on the collisions, but, I fixed the gravity when you fall off of the platform! Originally, there was a glitch where you just fall to the ground, or it looks like "teleportation," now he actually falls.

I never had a younger sibling..... I have three older siblings and I'm the youngest Oh well, because I can beat all of them at programming and basically anything dealilng with a computer!!!

Quote: "i wish i had never introduced my little sister to html"

I find it hard to introduce programming - even HTML to people (maybe because the people I tried with had not interest )

I started on level 2 and I have justed started on making platforms, while still fixing bugs and adding content to the first level.

Could you make the voices 3d sounds and position them on the character to make it sound more like he's talking and less like some guy next to me is talking?

Oohh, that would make it sooo much better! That would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (!*1000)!!. Yah. Could you also make the hay things a "TinY" bit bigger? NOt so much bigger that they touch, but just so they are a little closer. The ones above the water though are perfect! I like the ones above the water!

In the first cinematic with Kewt talking to Kuber, they are 3d sounds positioned to the characters. I have yet to do that with the dreamcatcher penguin cinematic however.

Quote: "Could you also make the hay things a "TinY" bit bigger? NOt so much bigger that they touch, but just so they are a little closer. "

You mean just the first few bales? I could do that

UPDATE:
I finally started Level 2 and here is a pic of 2 1/2 hours of developing:

It's just a building texture with my random binary number matrix and with collision boxes positioned very carefully. That demo with level 2 should be out soon - hopefully the end of November or sooner

That was a pretty good movie

I've started added more buildings and undertaking the maticulous process of texturing them with my binary textures.

In school in one of my classes, we were instructed to create a T-Shirt with any design we chose - although we were only entitled to one iron-on-transfer sheet. So, I created a Kewt K' Kuber one (imagine that)

More Screenshots of level 2 coming soon!

I was actually thinking about doing that, I was just wondering how to go about doing that. Paypal, but, is anybody going to trust giving me money to get a shirt? And would anyone want one? How much would it cost to send it in different countries - stuff like that I just don't have answers for. I could find the price, but, would you guys buy a shirt?

Anyway, I've decided to make Level 2 in a military base, with everything textured in binary. (like previous pics - more coming soon) There's tanks, silos, buildings, turrets, planes - all that good stuff.

Like I said, I'll have shots soon of the almost-finished-world.

I would much rather like to see levels that are more solid
I mean, levels were you're not using the binary texture, but solid texture, like in level 1.

Level 2 starts out as solid. You are inside of a room and have to get out. When the door opens and you leave, the world turns into a binary matrix - and besides, it's only one level

Here is a screenshot so far:

There is a watchtower, sleeping quaters, and tank facilities, as well as the character Kuber riding one of the tanks.

[NOTE: The floor hasn't been created yet ]

So, what do you guys think of the t-shirt ideas?

wow, that's actually REALLY GOOD! I think it would be A little more computer-like to make the background black. THough it might make it hard to see with that so I'm not sure.

As for the t-shirt idea, I probably wouldn't buy a t--shirt, because I have enough t-shirts already. Thanks though.

It is pretty hard to see. I started out with it black, but you couldn't really see from building to building and it looked pretty bad. So, I added red sky (although the ground is missing).

I'll have the solid portion of level 2 soon, it looks pretty good

As for the t-shirts - as I figured. Heck, I really wouldn't want to buy one either! It was just an assignment in class, not meant to be purchased for $7+

Well about the T-Shirts/ MERCHANDISE , have a look at http://www.cafepress.com/ <-- basically you can get your "logo" / images sold on items from t-shirts to badges. You just need a picture, and a paypal account, they handle the majority of the aspects and you get some money per every merchandise baught

BUT i'd advise getting your game finished first, then after its finished get some publicity from the many ways out there, one i'd suggest being putting it in every shareware/freeware service you can find. The joys of the buisness side of games ^-^

I'll definitely look into that Sephiro, thanks

The "solid" portion of level 2 is coming out great. It features you (not sure if you are being Kuber or Kewt yet ) running from a boss. The only way to defeat him is to lure him to chop down all of the support pillars making the roof cave in, ultimately destroying the boss.

Screenshots soon!

It's not too complex - although pretty complex to program succesfully.

UPDATE:
I've come up with a great solution to my collision needs. Using my idea and the code that comes along with it, I don't have that jumpy collision any more
The pillars are in the game and can fall, although I have to add sound effects.

TO DO SOON:
Make it so the door opens when the last pillar falls, giving you a few seconds to flee before the entire roof falls down ontop of the boss.
All audio in the second level
Repost the K n' K Demo of Level 1 with the updates

Like I previously stated and have been saying for a while , screenshots soon (seriously this time - I just have to work some more stuff in to make the screenshots absolutely worthy, then I'll upload them)

So, keep playing and [THE X BOX 360 comes out on Tuesday! Sweet! {Although I'll just get the PS3 when it comes out next year }]

I personally think both of those are overrated, and over priced. I got a computer last week, and it might be coming wednesday. It's way better than my old 94meg ram 400mhz compu with a 16-mb graphics card (No wonder I can't make a decent game) But, the game is sounding to be REALLY cool. (lots of )

You can't kill the shark yet, I haven't gotten that far . But, you'll probaby have to dump lava on the water - or something to that effect

So you got to the Dreamcatcher Penguin? That's cool We took a long time to voice that whole thing, and even longer to program it.

Froggy is the rat with the viking helmet in the corner. He has an introduction before Level 1, but I just made that today - and voiced it all last night So, did you like Froggy then?

Tried the demo... controls wern't bad, and I love the feel of the game But the collision is buggy as hell... I eventually gave up on the "find kuber" objective because I couldn't climb the haybales. I'd suggest chipping out $25 for neuclear glory's collision plugin; or at least come up with a better system

Voiceovers were awesome tho'

Well, I fixed the collision a few days ago and it isn't so glitchy and does move the character back and forth and it doesn't restrict movement as much
Quote: "I couldn't climb the haybales. "

Why not? Everyone that I had test it had no problem.

I'll hopefully be able to re-upload the updated version demo and hopefully a demo of Level 2!

TIP: If you press "1" when you are on the haybales, the camera changes to an overhead view and it is easier to jump

Have you improved your collision yet? I think that was the biggest problem with the current demo, and it got really annoying after a while. If you fix your collision, I also think you really need to work on your camera, and give it a little lag which would really help your game a lot.

Anway, here is the promised shot (more soon):

This is the first part of level 2 where all of the pillars have fallen and the door just opened to go to see the indian.

I got a lot finished on the game today, so you can expect the demo hopefully sometime in December.

I hope you didn't have to walk too far

I could post the early version right now if you want, but it won't have the indian part - only the part where you knock down the pillars. Is that OK, because I'll upload it if you want?

To cope with the waiting time, here is a shot:

This is the indian - although I have plans to change his appearance

So, do you want the demo anyway?

OK, intead of waiting for a reply to my question, I just uploaded the level anyway.

LINK: http://www.kewtnkuber.tk or more conviently at http://madman1337.game-host.org/rhettgames/kewtnkuber/demo2.zip

FEATURES:
Although the level is about 60-70% complete, it is still remotely enjoyable. There are not any character voices quite yet, but I am working on it. The roof isn't in on the second room, and the indian part is there, just isn't nearly finished.

So, enjoy and tell me what you think

or from http://madman1337.game-host.org/rhettgames/kewtnkuber/controls.htm from the site

I'll try to remember to include that - I usually remembered on my previous games
