but bluegui was quite different than i had imagined. ie it does not support buttons with images, only text
"

I had this same problem with not having images available in BlueGUI buttons.

I overcame this by using a panel and mask it as a button shape and putting a custom button image. Check out SetPanelImage or something like that ... works well for me ... hope this helps!

Any word on this yet?

Not sure if you posted elsewhere, since I don't check the forums very often.

I don't see anything about it at your webpage either.

hi.

wow i didn't know people used my editor.
well what i can tell you is this: the best and most functional version of TIAME is v2.01b

that is the one i use and is currently using to develop the levels for the zombie hunter game (v1.8).

i will not work on the dbc version anymore (talking about tiame here), because one of the reasons being DarkEdit not quite have what im looking for when i work on such large projects. if i find codekeeper again then i might continue on it.

but news is im working on a DBPro version, using BlueGUI.

currently i have paused it, and will pick it back up after the SHMUP DEV competition, and after i finish zombie hunter 1.8

when i get to a stable version of the DBPro editor, then i will release the source code to TIAME v2 so (if you have dbc) you can modify it to however fit your need.

same goes with the dbpro version (tiame v3), when i finish it (hmm if i ever will) then i will release the source code to that also.

Thanks

edit : I tried it now, very impressive, i think it deserves a visual-automatic script writer-editor from me.

@Lukas : I does no more use Magic-Windows but, I'll maybe do a TPC Plugin version of it this year. the old website (3DMapEditor's one) is devoted to disappear soonly... The new website with X-Quad Editor will then be up and a 3DMapEditor part will exist in And later maybe ... a new 3DMapEditor 2 :p who'll know ?

DB Newbie, everyone has that problem. Just read through my old post about it, and his reply.

He is still busy on other things apparently. He has his own forum, but no room for the map editor yet. Just three forum rooms for his three games, and one general one to link to hot underage strippers, and discuss getting drunk.

i am working on v2.03 which will be the final release.
i do this because v2.01b which i am currently using does have some bugs that i dont like :/ and anything about v2.01b is just crap imo.

and with v2.03 it will be easier to develop zombie hunter 1.8

i am currently rewriting the editor.
i have changed the style i program so its really hard for me to find what's wrong and stuff like that.

the original code is at 8127 lines of code + 2729 lines of code for MagicWindows (which Freddix wrote)
so its a total of 10856 lines of code.

and if i am supposed to search through that amout of lines it will take time. so i feel it would be better off rewriting it, and dividing it in more than 6 files :/

when i finish v2.03 it will probably include the source, but i'm not sure yet..

heya.

here is a movie of the new segment editor. (kind of like the one in fpsc, i found it very helpful).

with the segment editor, you can now create the maps really fast.
it is still quite buggy though, but its improving.

i made a small room in 30 sec's:
http://lukasw.com/downs/videos/tiame2.03.avi ~ 8mb

that movie show the segment editor in action. it still need some toolbars, so far it uses hotkeys. (w for wall, f for floor, r for rotate, c for corner etc. etc.)

with the segment editor, i can also add Sparkys DLL for the collision.

i wonder if ODE works in DBC.. anyone?

also, by building a map with segments, the lightning and game speed will be improved

edit,

i uploaded a picture to demonstrate the lightning in v2.02

now have a look at how it will look in v2.03
very much improved imo.

the segments that are behind the camera, or too far away, or hidden in fog, will not be drawn, so the framerate will go up or stay on the same level.

this was not possible to hide objects in previous versions, because the scene would be ruined due to the large scaled objects etc.

Wow. The segment editor looks great. I love the "keep it simple" song as well.

Can you adjust the size of segments? So if you wanted the walls taller or shorter for whatever reason, or to put larger tiles for the ground or floor to save time, it'd be possible? Any plans to do a fill thing, where you just select one spot, then drag over to another, and have that entire area filled with something?

When you want to place things at a higher level, a second floor for instance, can you just change the X Y Z coordinates of where the placer thing is at, and rise up that amount?

I must say, I disagree. If you want to make something good, then it takes time to make, and if you work like a professional company, it can take a month or more to plan and develop your ideas.
