Hostel, well I was really disapointed, same with Saw, and Saw2 - I'm too desensitiesed, to be honest, I get more disturbed by the weird baddies in Mighty Boosh than anything Hollywood has produced
.
I mean, Land of the Dead was a comedy surely. I enjoyed Dawn of the Dead, the remake was actually decent I thought, nice and violent, wicked zombies, annoying characters getting pwnd, zombie babies (or baby zombie, ahah!).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying 'if your freaked at that your a pussy', I'm saying that these new fangled horror movies largely suck.
Take Alien2 as people have already mentioned, that's my favourite movie, it's classic, and movies will never be as good as that again.
The most entertaining movies I've watched recently:
The Warriors, and the original Hills Have Eyes. These are movies from the 70's, and they kick ass compared to this new crud. Hills has been remade, haven't seen the remake but damn the original is cool
- I love the scene with Mercury just before he get's killed, I just thought the relationship the freak brothers portrayed was very honest, like your the scum of the earth and a complete moron, but your my bruv
. I like quirky movies like that.
Hostel gave a good murky impression of modern eurotrash, but then they had to go all Merican and start with the stupid revenge ending. I'd say I prefered Saw to Hostel, but for that style of horror, Se7en is still the best, closely followed by Silence ot Lambs.
