...GRAVELOOTER...A follow-up to All Hail Hitler...
(Last Updated 5th May 2006)

FULL VERSION HAS BEEN RELEASED:
Megaupload:
http://www.megaupload.com/fi/?d=W4IQBUXH
Firefront:
http://files.filefront.com/Gravelooter_Full_Gamerar/;5017120;;/fileinfo.html
209mb file

(NOTE: This file contains only five levels from the game. The final level needs to be downloaded as a seperate game.)

Download the final level of the game here after you've finished the full game file:
Megaupload:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CABG3K60
Filefront:
http://files.filefront.com/Gravelooter_Final_Levelrar/;5042366;;/fileinfo.html

Soo...after playing the game, you will also need to download the final level in order to finish the game. Sorry, but I got some serious runtime errors in FPSC and the only solution was to build a single game of the final level.

The game files are packed in .RAR format. You'll need WinRAR or UltimateZip to extract the files.

WinRAR:http://www.rarlab.com/
UltimateZip:http://www.ultimatezip.com/

===============================================================
Includes:
-6 levels, each set in a diffrent theme.
-Huge amount of music tracks and ambient sounds
-Average 1.5+ hours of gameplay (be sure to play the final level also!)
-Soft lightmapping, high texture detail.
-Weirdness. Do not take it too seriously, the game isn't a super dark, pure horror-spirited game, but rather a mixed bag of horror, humour and sci-fi.
-Unlike in All Hail Hitler, lots and lots of custom media is used, almost all of them player-made. (check credits list below!)
=======================================================

The Story:

Following the events that occured in All Hail Hitler...
You escaped the nazi base, stole the warplan and stopped Hitler. After returning to the United States, you were celebrated as a hero. Yet you had no desire for fame or fortune. So you returned to your father's mansion and lived there, but you always got the feeling that you were being watched...even though you were alone.

Until now...this very night...

Aaah! It's midnight and some idiot has knocked down the front door of your precious mansion! But, as you rise from the bed and grab your shotgun, you realise that things are FAR from any good...it can't be just your neighbour, right? The thousand-year old mansion that belonged to your father is about to get stained in blood once more...
=================================================

Credits/Special Thanks List:

I'd like to thank following people of the forum;
-bond1, for the HL2 zombie and animated security camera
-Conjured Entertaiment for one music piece
-Dodic's hillpack v2 (or was it Dodic? Correct me if I'm wrong.)
-Diego for the kitty sign pack
-Essal for the painting pack
-ManofArt for the awesome water segment
-The creator of SignsPack, unfortunately there are too many "SignsPack" named threads, and I downloaded these signs a long ago, so sadly I don't really know their author.

i ask myself:

can skeletons sit against nothing in real life?

Looks nice but that red light annoys me!
Can you do something to change it?

And why are those skeletons sitting in middle of graveyard?

You should put the skeletons up against the grave stones. It would look better.

And to make it dark and scary, go to build game, level settings, edit global script and change ambience level to 0 or 1.

@Silver lord & Havok

DOH! Dammit, I forgot. I'll fix this for the full version, since I don't really want to start building the whole game again just because of few skeletons.

@Nigezu

I wanted to give it a rather "bloody" feeling instead of super dark like in DoomIII. Don't worry though, the red lights aren't used everywhere in the game.

Btw, I also had to remove all the storyzones from the second level because of that game crashing bug. The first level will inlcude storyzones, and to cancel them, you need to press either esc or enter.

@Maeko

Ty for the tip, but I don't want the game to be too dark though, but I might use it for the full game after I'm sure how the all levels look like.

And lastly, it isn't required to play All Hail Hitler before playing this one, it just has the same main character in the storyline.

New screenshot from the third level which I'm currently working on.

The area design has changed to a bit more sci-fi, but it's essential for continuing the story (which has zombies peeing on nuclear generators...anyone played Stubbs the zombie? I kind of got the idea from that, but as long as it's crazy, it's good! )

Sad that I didn't put this level to the demo...I found some truly spectacular music tracks for it. Oh well.
Expect the full version to come in this (or the next) month, if I'm fast enough.

bloody brilliant- thats all i have to say.
You're detailed and very much a perfectionist when it comes to art in games - which is great.
Still needs some - umph - if you know what i mean?
As in, you're starting to get original, but you still need to go one step further. The plot is more intreguing than the first, and actually, i cant wait to see how the story adapts. This has true promise.
remember - umph.

Keep up the good work!

PS: Isn't it illegal to use Coca-Cola logo in your game?

@ Nigezu

Oh no! I didn't think of that. I didn't make those signs though...I found them from the models/media section months ago. The author didn't say that they would contain illegal models, so I decided to put them on my game.
Are few coca-cola signs really bad? I can remove them if need to. Thanks for the comment though.

Btw, anyone got comments about the demo?

Coca Cola take things to court cases and big legal issues if anything of theire company is copied. They even have their own shade of red! Did you guys know that? I suggest you take the signs out!

Ho hum, new screenshot from the fifth level. This one showcases the free water segment made by ManofArt (million times thank you!).

As you may have noticed, the game keeps getting more sci-fi at the end, and I think that I will stick to this idea.

@ Black Games: Fine, but I wasn't aiming for a 100% realistic game. 100-300 years then.

@ PureEvil: Sorry to hear that. You could use a download manager which allows you to resume your downloads (if Filefront allows this). Also, which kind of a connection you are using? How long did the download take?

If anyone wants me to host this file somewhere else, just tell and I'll see what I can do.

The full version should be up and running in couple of weeks. (or in 7 days, but I'm not promising anything)

@ Maeko- Why not, I'll add some enemies and test. Due to large filesize, I'll have to host this Physics Playground as a seperate game (which is in my opinion much wiser).

I'll begin building and testing the full version of Gravelooter today.

Arrgh. The game and levels 1-5 are just fine, but the last level refuses to load and I get a runtime error. (check screenshot)

"Array does not exit or subscript out of bounds."- I've got this problem before too, and unfortunately it looks like I'll have to start building the level all over again...

...

Anyone who wishes to help, post to this thread I made earlier:

Got it fixed, but unfortunately, I'll have to create a seperate .exe for the final level, so in order to play trough this game, you'll need to download two install files.

Will probadly upload them to Filefront soon.

@connor: Thanks.

Alright then, I'll create the installer files for the game today (that is, if Clickteam's Install Creator works). Sorry for the lack of updates, but I had to do some last-minute testing for the game. Another thing would be because I play too much Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion these days

Anyways, here's a new screenshot. It may have crap quality (damn FPSC won't let me use Anti-aliasing and Anistropic Filtering anymore).

Dang it, Filefront has decided to put it's uploading services down for maintence. I don't know when I can host the game there, and I can't really find any good sites to host (mainly because of the filesize).

If anyone knows a good place to host, please post here. (also add a link).

The game files are packed in .RAR format. You'll need WinRAR or UltimateZip to open it, as soon as I can host them somewhere.

Alright, THE FULL VERSION HAS BEEN RELEASED!

Download here:

209mb file

(NOTE: This file contains only five levels from the game. The final level needs to be downloaded as a seperate game.)

I will upload the final level of the game tomorrow, since I am currently dead tired.

Soo...after playing the game (Gravelooter Full Game), you will also need to download the final level in order to finish the game. Sorry, but I got some serious runtime errors in FPSC and the only solution was to build a single game of the final level.

Cheers. (download links/updates added to first post)

(also remember to check the first post in this thread, it contains the download links for WinRAR and UltimateZip, unless you already have one of them, since you will need them to extract the game, which is in .RAR format)

@traynor- Thanks, but I was able to host at Filefront today. I'll upload the game to Filefactory too in one of these days, since some people have complained about the download times.

Oh yeah, and about Physics Playground- I'll upload it too when it gets ready (needs testing), but I'm not sure should I really even release it though.

Arrf, damn Filefront. Just when I get to succesfully upload the game the whole site gets put down for maintence, so the download links are not working for a few days.

Sorry for all this confusion-.

I gave up the upload to filefactory since all I got was 63kbps, which was way too slow for me. Guess I'll just have to wait till Filefront returns from maintence.

Sorry about that I explain this in Finnish:

Oletko kokeillut, että kun olet uploadannu sen pelin sinne filefronttiin niin sitten painat sieltä vasemmasta laidasta submit a file. Sitten etsi kohta view files ja klikkaa sitä. Sitten siinä pitäisi näkyä semmone lista sinun uploaddaamistasi peleistä. Siitä vaan klikkaat tätä peliä ja latausruutu aukeaa. Sitten vaan linkkiä tänne. Pitäs toimia. Mulla ainakin toimi.

(This is in finnish too)

No jaa, mulla tulee tämmönen ilmoitus aina kun Filefronttiin yrittää mennä:

"To All FileFront Users: FileFront is currently offline for schedule maintenance. The FileFront website, including all of its network sites and forums, are off-line for expansion and service launches. Features, including file hosting, image hosting, blogging, and file downloads will be temporarily unavailable until the afternoon of Tuesday, April 25th. Hosted user files will be down for slightly longer. This is in preparation for new and exciting features and better overall site performance and stability including faster downloads. We thank you for your support, patience, and understanding!"

(Back to English now)

Anyways, now I got some good news. I was able to host the file at megaupload.com, and until Filefront gets back to shape you can download the game from there.
