it's not that dark in the game. For some reason that screenie can out darker than it should be. In the game, it is dark but you can see. If you look closer, you can see a shadow at the end of the corridoor.

Looks nice The light should be just outside the lamp fixture in the last screen though, the placement looks sort of off.

Zombie games are a FPSC favourite because:

(1) The dark (poor lighting effects) hides the ridiculous looking entity and makes it appear more scary.

(2) The pathetic nature of all Zombie games suggests they are ideal for day those lacking an original game idea: "Hmm... no clue what to do with this here FPSC... I know, I'll create a cool Zombie game!" YAWN give me a break.

(3) The idiot walk that plagues all FPSC characters is suited more so for Zombies, indeed it can always be claimed that they walk so lame because they're Zombies and people will buy that.

(4) I hate Zombie games, as you may have noticed.

A Fair point, But if zombie games are so "Lame" then why do most of them turn out to be a success. For example, if my game is so "lame" according to you, then why would people be giving me good comments, and why would this thread of turned into a "hot thread" if it wasn't popular. I do respect your opinion, and everyone has a right to freedom of speach, BUT to make comments like
Quote: "The pathetic nature of all Zombie games suggests they are ideal for day those lacking an original game idea"

just shows that you don't have much respect for different styles of gameplay. Please do not think i am flaming you, i am just giving you a little heads up.

cheers

Josh

More screenies coming soon. I am getting the animated sprite pack in a few weeks, so expect lots of light rays and other effects in my screenshots after then

This statement is completely false. I have loved the zombie genre since the mid 1990's when I first watched Dawn of the Dead. The sole reason I got FPSC was to create zombie games, because I love them so much. You may not like them, but lots of people do. That is why they are so popular.

@creator of zombies
I haven't been on in a while, but I checked back and your game keeps looking better and better. I can't wait to see more Keep up the good work.

Do they? Well even "The Sims" is a success but that does not say much for the type who think it's so cool, damn some of them even have fan sites! It's the same old story, if you advertised a sachet of tomato sauce on eBay you can be sure that a steady stream of fruit loops would start bidding for it

Quote: "For example, if my game is so "lame" according to you, then why would people be giving me good comments, and why would this thread of turned into a "hot thread" if it wasn't popular."

I never said your game is lame, I have not checked it out to be honest. People who like Zombie games will of course give you good comments, can't expect everyone to be like me can you? It's a hot thread because I contributed

All the best with your game.

I have to admit when I first saw this project I thought "just another stock media FPSC game" but now when I look at it I have to say this is turning out excellent! Great job creator of zombies! That last shot has some good light mapping.

@B z3r0 - Thanks dude!!.The Zombies are equal to the work as half-life, Thats why the game is going to be free, and then i shall sell/give away a pack with all the sound effects in

@Opposing force - Thanks!!

Quote: "when I first saw this project I thought "just another stock media FPSC game"

I am trying to avoid the boring, bland stock media trap by

* Making my own SFX
*Making my own custom blood decals (just started)
*Having atmospheric lighting

And soon, I shall have the animated sprite pack. Then i can make my game and screenies realy kick a$$!!

{NOTE}

The release date of zombies might be prosponed to early 2007 due to i want the player to have the ULTIMATE horror experience. And with a planned 13 levels, thats ALOT of work to do.
