I would also like permission to post some of you screen shots on fpsFREE.com

The forum provides a means to hide our true identity. Too bad we always screw up and let it be seen.

Well, about the last shot, i can only see a green little dot in the middle. The other looks good though.

About the bumpmapping. Bumpmapping and normalmapping is already available in FPSC. There are some threads in the forum that shows how to do it.

Ya know, I have to almost apologize. I generaly open a thread read the first couple post to see if I want to continue reading or not. Seeing your signature graphic, I figured "Nother low quality game". No offence but your sig shows a very basic( and this is being generous ) knowledge of a graphics prog.

I finally looked at some of the screenshots for this and was taken aback. Very profesional looking textures/overlays and level design.

Good luck on getting this completed. Very nice.

If you would like creator, I could make you a better sig.

Actually now that I think about it, I would love to be able to work with you on this project. I have taken classes on level design and I have been doing it for roughly 8 years now so If you would like to have me help just say so. I am looking forward to this game either way.

Ok then, This project will be fun to work on.

I don't need any money, but some would be good. How about more like 70/30. You are the creator so you should get the most. All I need to get to work is some basic level summaries and any custom stuff that is to be put into the levels (Enemies, objects, etc.)

I'll try to get on MSN.

Well I liked one or two screenshots then again I dislike the blue lightmapping it doesn't work well I also can't see that you using any shaders or higher res textures...over all great idea still needs a lot of work.

@ Wizard of id- Thanks for the constructive Criticism but there are a few things i would like to make clear

1. Cyan lightmapping DOES work well in SOME places. If you take a look at my newest screenshots on the previous page, you shall see i am using a different style of lighting

2. Textures in my newest screenshots are ALL high res. Also, i am also using segments from model packs 1 and 2 which are not high res, and i can't do anything about that.

3. Shaders are a problem. FPSC does support bumpmapping but there is a flickering issue with the shader (Not sure if it's a shader problem or a engine issue). Also i play my levels with shader effects on and place bump.fx on all of my items and entities.

thanks

Cyan lightmapping or any other colour ONLY works if you have textures that support that type of light mapping and you didn't.And one of my rulz that I stick to is don't use a single bright light...NEVER EVER it looks extremely bad.Rather use a few ranged lights this gives you nice smaller shadow area's.

The style of lightmapping is sightly better but the brightness can be turn up a little

I do not have problems with any of the shaders. If there is any flickering it's a problem with your hardware or a problem the wall floor box ect...

@TomThelwall- Ok,cool. You are welcome to test

@Godrich13- Ok. Level 4 is going to be a freeky dream level. To achive this effect, it is best to place entities upsidedown. Also, place wall segments upsidedown and on there side. Also, have a big series of long pitch black corridoors. The player then has to follow a glowing trail of lights to get to the door on the other side. Place wierd sounds in the dark corridoors to increase tension and fear. The best way to design this level is to place things in the level that make no sense. (example- Cars sticking out of walls, chairs upside down floting in mid air) Make the player feel confused and scared. I hope this is enough info. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a email

Here is a very early screenshot of level four. I drew a lot of inspiration from the Max Payne Dream levels. I wanted to instill the fear of falling off of the map with this one.

Its hard to take some "inspiration" from nothing. So most of the time you need another game or movie to base your stuff on.

@Godrich13- very nice!!. Just a note. Make the player afraid of the dark and the dream state. I think the fear of falling of the map would make it not freaky. Anyway, good work!!

I know, I'm going to pay some homage to some old horror films that I made back in my 8MM days. There is going to be crap flying around and I would like to see stuff like the dead rising again in the dream. Another idea I have is the player looks in a mirror and sees himself, only to see his reflection brutally murdered before his eyes. This game is going to be mature right?
