I think you have some good work going on. The textures on the walls and floor go nicely together.

The story line:

The year is 2047, humanity has suffered another world war and subsided into a chaotic realm. Several forces battle for supremacy over a barren wasteland. The British Battalion, a large and well funded legion are at war with the heretic Dark Chapter, a group of traitors who believe they are above the emperors command and so must be destroyed. Under the British Battalion's command your job as an elite member of the SRT (Special Response Team) is to infiltrate one of the Dark Chapter's bases and destroy it from within.

@KeithC - Thanks for the comments.

Since when has Britain ever had an emperor? Maybe you should change that bit to king.

Looks alright. Nice textures. I would take them decals out though, the default FPSC ones are nasty.

Well Britain had an Empire before now. Those textures are from http://lemog.free.fr/lemog_v5/index.php?cat=4 lots of free to use textures.

Oh and Higgins storylines don't have to be historically correct, especially when there set in the future thereby meaning they can't be historically correct.

All updates to this game will be made available at my forum: http://kwgamestudios.proboards62.com

The textures are completely free for commercial and non-commercial use.
Hope that answers your question Tom

But this thread really isn't about that site, it's about this game.

Just to confirm, you can use the for commercial games. I've contacted the website owner (and created of a good number of those textures) about that last year and he had no problem with using it for commercial related projects.

Benjamin A you retard, the British Empire had over 2/3 of the world under its belt. Do your research before you start slagging people off and clogging up the forums with your useless junk.

@Sanders - thanks! It's nice to know that some people appreciate your work.

Over 2/3 of the world? Let's see.... Japan, Russia, China, South & Middle America, Huge parts of the Middle East and Europe make up over half of the world and those were never under the British Empire.....

Besides I do not like to be called a retard, sorry but I'll have to contact TGC about that.

Well maybe I don't like people making a mockery of my country's history and heriatage. Do you see me contacting TGC? No. I try to get along with as many people as I can in this forum but some people have no hope at ever becoming a half decent person. I'll apologise for the retard remark as it was a little harsh, and after that we're even.

Ok so maybe 1/3 of the world but still the worlds largest empire.

I'm not making a mockery of your heritage and history at all and I don't see that you could have even taken my post as such. I'm just putting your claims in a more truthfull perspective.

Heh heh, that story reminds me a lot of Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War and Space Marine Chapters battling over the "heretic" forces of Chaos. And even more because your story has an emperor too.

Anyways, back on the subject, the screenshots look great.

Your work does look good, that's for sure! Perhaps you could scale down some of the textures you use, some of look a bit to big, like the floor.

You mean the large cracked and broken one? That's kept me thinking as well.

Expect a gargantuan change of scene in the next map, i'm working on it now and should have screenies by tomorrow, possibly later today.

EDIT: Most likely tomorrow, FPSC is throwing one of its infamous hissy fits, the "i'm not starting" one to be precise.

EDIT: 20th April, download attachment for latest screenies in .swf format, you will need flash player 7 or above to view them.

Which bit?

Rather than double post, i'm currently in the market for a new machine, so I may not be doing to much work on the game until it arrives. Just thought someone may care

N.B I have to go and collect the computer on Thursday.

"I've contacted the website owner (and created of a good number of those textures) about that last year and he had no problem with using it for commercial related projects."

If the owner created "a good number" of the textures, then he admits he did not create them all.

If he did not create them all, they are not all his, so he may be assigning rights that he doesnt own.

What is a "good number"? Which ones are his?

I cant believe some guy would sit around making thousands and thousands of textures (on very expensive software) then would just give them all away.

Its a sweet looking game. Im just saying beware. I suspect the guy who runs that sight doesnt take copyright laws too literally.

I bet whoever did make those textures spent some time and effort on it, and probably remembers it.

The only way to be sure you own copyrights outright is to make it yourself (from scratch), license it, hire someone to do it, or use images from the public domain.

BTW this goes for music too. (Even samples).

I know all this. Sorry to be blunt but I do, one of my uncles is a lawyer so I usually ask him to check if he can get the time.

Anyway there's been a delay in getting my new computer but I should be able to go and collect it tomorrow and it's a three day weekend because it's a bank holiday here in England, yay!

So with any luck I should be able to begin the long and daunting process of backing up and transferring data from my old HD to my new one. And then continue with my game
