I just go to a hospital ward and can open some doors and cant open some. I cant find any keys and there are no weapons or enemies around. Some basic instructions would be cool."

Sorry about that. I should really rename this from "Demo" to "Beta" because the versions I am currently releasing are just primitive test versions. The finished version will include instructions, and will have better puzzles than simply finding keys to unlock doors. Once I finish designing the basic level layouts, I will go back and fine-tune the missions, making the puzzles more intuitive, and create the storyzones, where you can actually talk to NPC's and gather information.

That being said, you might want to check in the cafeteria for a key.

Yea I have some tips for ya.

Create a new game and add some of your objects in to a room. Mess with the physics on each item.

Make the "Weight" over like 4000 to make it so it can't be picked up. Add heavy "Friction" to make it so objects dont slide around.

I have figured out some good physics for objects like chairs.
Contact me on msn if you have it:

Doesn't it put strain on the game to have a lot of moveable items? Does it slow the game down very much?

Walking Dead.

Use the following physics for the chairs:

Weight: 12000
Friction: 18500

I think it works pretty well. Its not easy to move by walking into it and it dosn't slide around that much.

Like I said, is there anyway to get the computer models off ya?

I don't post on this forum much... But I just have to correct this...

The more dynamic objects you put into the game, the more calculations there needs to be done every single loop... And this is even if the objects doesn't move(The program of course have to calculate dynamic objects for collisions etc... ), so in short, the more calculations, the slower the game will get... So yes it can slow your game down. Use dynamic objects wishly Static objects only needs to be checked for player collisions etc(Thus gives much lesser calculations)... Static objects also get's to be a part of the level geometry. But dynamic objects needs to be checked for pretty much everything.

Cheers,

I just played, and it was good. Even though someone said something about a zombie in the window, and I was on the lookout; you still got me with it. Everything looks very good; the music was great!. Smooth demo, congratulations

I concur. Nicely placed special effects, especially with the nice sound whenever something scary happens, such as when-SPOILERS

Excellent demo, man-good job! I am now downloading the update and will post a review of that also.

One suggestion: Make stuff like chairs, garbage cans, and other stuf that are movable if you bumb into them in real life. Make them STATIC! It'll be more realistic!

Peller, do you mean to make them movable in the game? If so, DO NOT do it. It will whittle away your framerate.
COZ,
I downloaded the demo. First level was nice. Made me jump and I pretty much screamed when I went in "Cell A" hahaha. Playing this at midnight in pitch black was not a good idea. The first level, overall was well laid out and pretty nicely done.
However, the second level I really hated. Most parts were WAY too dark, and this time the part with the zombie looking at me through window had no effect, mainly because it was too dark for me to see him. I played through most of the level in pitch black. IT NEEDS MORE LIGHT. The first level's lighting was a bit too much by the way. But overall, nice demo. Pretty nice, but the second level really brought it down. Also, a storyline to go with it would be nice. And why did he start in a Cell with the door unlocked. Also, if one of the "other(assumption)" workers left him that note on the pin board, then what was he doing inside a Cell in the first place?

Ummm... Static objects will be a part of the level geometry... I think you're talking about Dynamic objects... And I think you should read my post above... I give an explanation why it's not good to use too many dynamic(moveable) objects.

In the first release of the game, I had made a lot more light, but everyone said it should be dark (read the first page of responses). So I changed it and made it a lot darker. But maybe I can make a happy medium if I play around with the lighting a bit more.
As for the storyline, that will be added later. Right now the game is in the very early building stages. I am releasing the playable levels for testing purposes so I can get some feedback on what to change. The full version will include the storyline.

Do I really have repeat myself...? Static objects Doesn't move. Dynamic objects do. You're contradicting yourself. First you say that he should make dynamic objects, then you all the sudden say that he should make them static... Doesn't make any sense...

uhm...yah woops. Sorry for the double posting of the static dynamic thing. I never knew that it continued to the second page. I didn't see my post so I did it again sorry. Yah I mean dynamic. And I know, if too much then it will be bad. But it never hurts to have some dynamic entites?!

Heh, yah its nice the fact you didn't say story first then media, but trust me you've shown us enough before syaing a story waling dead. For all I know of, I could be a random guy going to work and then all of a sudden I have to find keys and then get a gun and see a dead scientist and have no lights there and then all of a sudden see a green zombie!

[EDIT]
Yah, played the game...AGIAN(its that damn good that I play it 7 times to see all the parts and such ). And so I got all the keys and gun, and theres to two doors to go through, the one were I already see the scientist, or the other one next to the dead scientist. I went to the left one, and looked out that window, and fell through the ground. Donno what happended. But theres a thing. Also, does anything happen after I kill that green zombie?

Cool! I like how you made the game pretty puzzling! Nice job!

Demo's really really (and i mean really) good. Made me jump.

I kind of had the same problems the other users had, falling through the floor and all. But my experience happened when I got too close inbetween the table and the chair at the office room with the marlboro pack. I forget if I was crouching or not.

Can't wait till the full version.

Besides, the update when run removes the Uninstall so you cannot remove it, not even in Add or Remove Programs. Just delete it like I did, though.

I'm a computer science major at my university, so I have a lot of software development tools at my disposal. I made the patch at school. For this patch I believe I used Patchmaker by ClickTeam.

Also, an update -- level 3 is finished, but I think I am going to wait until I finish the game to upload the full version.

About the physics talk.... Just use Your common sense, Big heavy objects=remove the physics, small objects=use physics! If You shoot a winebottle when the physics is off will it break in half anyway? (I havent tryed that I think.)
