Yeah I'm watching it.. that is a MUCH more slick presentation than Sony put on. Really really cool so far, unlike PS3 (which I was interested in buying up until yesterday!), but Nintendo are really doing a good job of presenting it here.

Red Steel looked ok. The environments were stunning and wonderfully destructive, but to be honest the baddies need some work They died like FPSC baddies Looked like 2D photographs billboarded, but I know it's just a dev copy so I hope they sort that for the final build. The control system looked wonderful though.

Mine's stopped playing and just shows a Best Buy video over and over again. When it stopped the way it fizzled out from the bottom looked like a power outage.

Just watched it through to the end, no power outage here The Gamespot schedule says it carries on at 11, but not sure what it'd be? Anyway Microsoft next up

I'm very excited for the Microsoft conference. While I'm skeptical of all the rumors that Halo 3 will be shown during it, that sure would be nice.

Well, if Nintendo wanted to turn me into a foaming-at-the-mouth fangirl, they managed it.

Zelda - swinging a sword and fishing and shooting the bow and the hookshot. Even Zelda on the DS (even though they didn't show anything newer for that) it's still cool to be able to use the touchscreen to chart your ships course. And then there's that tennis game - and Wario Ware with the wonderful bonkers minigames.

And the speaker, and the rumble, and the Opera browser, and the 24/7 connection for downloads (and Animal Crossing visits!!)...

*foams at the mouth* Now, I realise that it may never be as good as I imagine it - but oh, right now I imagine it SO good.

Did I understand right that the analog atachment will have tilt control? And someone should kill the guy who invented daylight savings. I missed the conference by an hour. Now I have to wait till god knows when to be able to see it. I want to see Zelda!!
On a side note that speaker idea sounds great. bom bom

I just watched part of it, and I have to say that those are probably the most talentless and unfunny spokesmen ever.

"See, magnets are fun, who knew?"

SORRY NINTENDO, UR NO COMEDIAN.

But I'll still be first in line to get one.

Reading through, seems like you were impressed Rich

I'm a Sony fan boy, (I own XBox as well), but the PS3 looks... Well, I think it's going to be... like a certain forthcoming Windows operating system. Lame. But I think it will be 1st place in the console war, none the less, because Sony is just seen as cool. I mean, XBox should have won the last one, but Sony really came 1st.

Come on, Sony, pull your finger out and don't make it like £100000!

Time will tell? I have respect for Wii though, definately.

I say there really isn't much of a war, at least in my opinion.

360 has had next gen graphics for over 5 months now, the games are gorgeous and only getting better each quarter as developers are learning how to use the system more efficiently.

Wii will have next gen controls and while after viewing the conference i must admit that i am now very interested in owning the system. However i am a bit disappointed in the graphical capabilities since most of the games shown look no better then gamecube titles, but the control system alone warrants purchase in my book.

Sony really has nothing new or innovative to offer gamers all the graphics i have seen are, comparable to 360 game have yet to see any that are really better. And they are taking a swing at putting tracking into a controller now while it may be nice it is nowhere near the capabilities of the wii since the console and games are designed around the controls unlike sonys.

So since i already have a 360 and now after watching the conference will be buying a Wii that leaves sony out of the war for me at least.

Not too interested in graphics myself - they don't really add much for me. While playing I tend to phase out the graphics in my head anyway concentrating on actually playing the game

Twighlight Princess looks nice, tbh I would find having a humungous amount of detail just distracting. Take a racing game - it all goes by so fast you're hardly spending most of your time admiring the trees.

I agree. Graphics are more impressive on screenshots then when actually playing the game. New graphics are good for a shock factor but after a week (as the Wii name was), it dies down and you begin to see it for what it really is. It all comes down to gameplay and fun.

Yeah, we all know that Sony has the inferior product, but I still think it will win because of marketing muscle and brand loyalty.

My two cents.

People used to go home to play Nintendo, and then the ps2 came out... just be careful when talking about brand loyalty. I doubt many will get the ps3... if for no other reason than that it's far too expensive and will come out far too late.

I saw those vids, and omg... I Nintendo! I personally can't wait to see more of the Mario game. It looked awesome,
although very different, which may be good or bad.

Yeah, the Wii is definitely a giant step up and away from the GC. Not to mention a nice price tag and an early out date with a wide assortment of launch games which are all different on their own respects.

Ok, so understanding that the following has a 1/1000000000... chance of ever actually happening for me, I'll ask here anyway.

How do you develop for the Wii?

I mean, with the Virtual Console aspect to it (which sounds a lot like XBOX marketplace, but with over 1000 classic Nintendo (N64/SNES/NES) and Sega (Megadrive/Genesis) games for the downloading) apparently they're up for having independant game dev companies producing downloadable games.

Small companies, with imagination bigger than their budgets.

HOW THE HECK DO YOU READ THE INPUT FROM THE WIIMOTE?!

I mean, how cool would it be to be able to make independant, downloadable games for the Wii? For that control system? I used to think it'd be ace to be able to get a game on the XBox Marketplace, but Wii is infinitely cooler.

I imagine they'd check to make sure you were kosher first, and an actual company, not just some random kid in a basement - and then they might loan (or rent at a reduced price) the dev equipment/information.

I suppose in a certain memory address there'll be the location of the Wiimote's x/y screen coords plus its tilt, acceleration etc.

Following all the e3 stuff, I'd say the Nintedo won hands down, with the Wii (mostly), and some awesome ds games like starfox and yoshi island 2. I saw some pics of how crowded the Wii and ds areas were. The Wii line went past the last wait sign...
It sucks that Mario Galaxy wont be one of the launch titles, though.

Spore was even more awesome than I had hoped, but not much else really exited be outside of nintendo. The ps3 & 360 Sonic game looks awesome, but not quite as awesome as the Wii Sonic.

Snake will pwn Smash Bros. with his uber cardboard box.
