I agee - Wii Won.

They're being so very very clever with it - they're releasing Wario Ware nice and quickly so that players and other developers can learn what you can do with the new controllers (just as they did with the DS). They're even establishing names for the various controller 'positions' which will probably end up being standard - the umbrella, the waiter, the painter etc. That, and they're easily iconifiable - so instantly international.

Duck hunt looked ace, tennis still looks fantastic (I feel ashamed that I don't regularly have three people over to my house to play doubles), even just the action of opening doors in Metroid looks spanky.

Some of the DS games look a bit retro-hardcore for me (Castlevania in particular) but other ones are still ace.

Wii always win. Because if wii stick together, wii can make a difference. Remember, its not about one, its about wii.

And thats out of my system.

I absolutely LOVE what this new system can do. Expanding into the new territory was what Nintendo was about for so long, but it seemed the GameCube was just too low-risk to actually be of any real interest. Now they've taken a huge step into left field, and created the element of putting you in the game, rather than you controlling the person in the game. This alone is what really helps the Wii become so great, and it's what will bring it ahead in the race.

I agree.

Nintendo's conference was fantastic. I'm scarily excited about every single slither of information released--Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy and Red Steel being high on my priority list. And what Sony did with it's "innovation" tilt-sensing dual-shock PS3 controller... I'm never buying anything Sony again (not that I was ever big on Sony, but still...). Ugh. Do they actually think that people will swallow that thing and believe that they actually came up with it themselves? They even (albeit anonymously) labelled Wii a "gimmick". Then, of course, they rip it off like this. And c'mon, that motion demonstration looked so tacked on. They even admitted they only recieved the technology recently--surprise there...

Anyway, like I said, I'm dying of excitment. The knowledge that an RE game will be available for Wii? Ecstatic.

I just got to looking at it, and I must say im quite impressed. Its really amazing how nintendo comes up with these inovative ideas that no one else could come up with. Its also amazing how sony has the nerve to copy them.

He means that Sony would not have added tilt sensitivity if the Wii had not been showing so much promise using motion & tilt sensing that actually worked. I know it isn't the first, but it's by far the best, and the first implemented really well.

Edit: I THINK that's what he means, as that's what I think.

I would be very suprised to see some developers who originally were planning on sticking with Sony or microdollar to not want to try their hand at the "new" (its never really new) technology that the Wii has, especially after the praise of E3. I also would be suprised if Sony and Microsoft don't copy the complete methods of Nintendo's new controller system with addons within the next couple of years.

They will go where the money is.

I think they'll wait for Nintendo's machine to be released and see whether people enjoy waving their hands around in the air. A part of me sees the Nintendo controllers as a little gimmicky--- a novelty that will wear off after a few months.

There had better be options to play the new games in "normal" mode.

I do have to admit, Nintendo hasn't been the best with coming up with new things (powerglove, ROB), but they have come up with some innovative things that really caught on. This is more of a wait-and-see period, but something tells me Nintendo has really hit something big here. (And there is normal mode, in some games you see the person playing with the controller sideways ala NES controllers, just button mashing).
