I just bought shares in The Game Creators website on Alexadex...how cool is that! I reckon PhysX will increase the popularity of the site and make me some virtual dosh.

It's a free website trading site, a bit like Celebdaq but based on websites.

Get a free account and start buying. http://alexadex.com/ad/index.fcgi?ref=25308

That link gets me some free virtual cash to spend on more shares. Click it or just go straight to the site if you hate me that much.

I registered with your referal link, looks like a cool site!

Matt Rock, the FAQ says the trading window is closed 9am-12pm PDT. The current time in PDT is shown at the top, below the search box... It's a shame, I want to buy shares too. It's almost 10am PDT, so only 2 more hours.

Soapyfish, you are a genius! I have acquired similar shares, awaiting the event of 2006 to kick off tomorrow.

And no, it's not the World Cup!

*chuckle* I was still considering whether or not to keep my master plan quiet. It appears however that the winged one has twigged. For anyone else itching for a soapyfish style tip......

1984's a great book (it'll make sense when you twig)

EDIT:: And I've risked everything on the above, so here's hoping it goes with a bang.

The 1984 reference has me baffled. Are we talking at cross-purposes here? My theory lies in the popularity of Davina McColl and Dermott O'Leary.

Thanks Jeku, it looks like 3 people used my referral to give me some cash. Spread the wealth, post your own referral links for anyone else who comes along.

I'm still confused about the 1984 reference. I immediately picked up on the Big Brother theory as soon as I saw the C4 shares. But 1984?

It's not based on trading, it's purely on Alexa popularity. Now therein lies the Catch 22. I love the trading game, but I'm morally against Alexa, which is a marketing hound with bad ethics when it come to privacy.

I ditched my Nintendo shares in favour of Channel 4, and they would have made me $775 overnight Here's hoping C4 do the biz.

Are those numbers right? I mean, how many visitors the site gets? Are they allowed to report that?

When you say bad ethics/ privacy, do you mean we're being cookied to death when we go to this site?

It's based on the Alexa toolbar, which is installed and hence monitors your overall surfing habits. The Alexadex site can't do any more than any other site by way of watching you.

If you don't have the Alexa toolbar, you're safe enough.

I own 282 shares, the predominant shareholder in TGC. Does Rich and/ or Lee play golf? Isn't that what I'm supposed to do with them now, play golf? I THINK that's how "executives" like myself are supposed to spend our time

I also predominantly own www.menwholooklikekennyrogers.com < that one will go THROUGH THE ROOF! My girlfriend and I bought up *all* of the shares in that site

All the C4 shares are gone. They should be "hot" by the weekend, it's a bunch of complete freaks in the house.

I don't think the site rates how much money the company makes, it's merely how many hits their site gets... a popularity stock exchange.

I sold my share in GoDaddy last night to buy up a Chinese search engine (damn those Chinese sites are the fastest earners!). Looks like I lost money and GoDaddy's share price went up

I have a *hot* tip to find the fast earners. If anyone wants in you have to... I dunno... beg.

right, exactly, thats why you want to buy sites that arent popular but are soon to be very popular, ex. an inde game. Yes its a big risk, but if u read blogs and decide who is the real deal or not you can make big bux. Look at spoore.com - pre e3 it was doing horrible, post e3 its through the roof.

Made 2240 on 32 shares Gamedev last night... but I lost an almost equal amount on some other site which was looking good, and the prospects for the other site looked real bad and gamedev looks good coming into a weekend, so I sold the other site, and bought 8 more game devs, hoping to make my money back from that loss coming into the weekend. Then I'll move into porn sites, cause during the week, porn sites should be big. Lots of lonely people out there.

Thanks for the linking to the game Batvink, it really is quite cool.

yeah, until tomorrow when the true value of your stocks play out. The real question is, will you be worth more or less in the morning? Man, I so DON'T envy stock broker people! But I PWN teh TGC which means I can T@!K LIEK TI$H now

Speaking of which... if I sold all of my shares in TGC I could devistate the value of TGC, right? I should hold it for ransom
