Its possible to use an animated decal on an entity - but if you are thinking about a water model which animates for waves or surface movement I'm afraid the animated decal wont do - its impossible to have a decal distort itself appropriately in that way I should think and your animated texture (avi) support or preferably not avi but something much more sensible is whats needed - ah well - wait for someone to code it I guess. Could be tried I guess but It would be a very difficult task and a brave person to undertake trying.

Decals can be attached to flat enties realtively easily though.

The difficult bit in attaching a decal to the entity is rotation of the decal if needed - not the entity.

If you can rotate as required then your half way there - the rest is easy.

yeah i was talking about an animated model but do see where that's not possible at the moment. I'm cooking up something other than the attempt I did before.

but it will be really cheap

Well,you lead us to believe you were going to release it for free.
While you have the right to sell your water instead of giving it away you should not have led the FPSC community to believe you were going to give it away and then turn around and sell it.
I am very upset and I won't be buying your model pack.
You should have given the water away for free like you inferred you were going to do and then sold your pack with or without water.
All of the people who posted here and read your thread and thought you were going to post the water for free won't buy it either.

I am sure some poeple will.I just don't think it's fair that he said he was going to post it and then he said he was going to charge for it.
But,hey,life's not fair.I just can't buy the model pack out of principal.It does look nice and all.

Get rid of the commercial and non-commercial thing. What are you going to do even if someone doesnt listen to you?

The water i'll release for free will be free for commercial projects, too
