I checked out what you was after higgins and it seemed each wall was different in colour and formation, here's another variation. I hope it's more to what you desire

orange clay gravel ? Do you have an image of that i can see for reference ? And i take it you want 2 straight tyre marks going from bottom to top ?

EDIT: Sorry, i could have written this in the above post, my mistake.

Wow - this is some superb work here, much Kudos due.

If I might be a pain in the Arris and ask for an odd one?

Could you please do a dirt/gravel path (quite thin) surrounded on each side by grass and with little "weeds" growing through it? like a garden path that is overgrown...

These really are superb, btw - nice job!

Other then like the generic wall one and a couple others, Texture maker really dosen't impress me that much as far as it final output. This says nothing about Wehtam's skills as on the fly, hes doing whatever anyone asks which is coo he can turn um over so fast, but these textures for the most part come out worse then the stock FPSC...
And those are pretty bad.

If thats a decent representation of what comes outta that program your best off with gimp. Im sure gimp has a way to do like Photoshops offset filter, to tile things, don't it?

he clearly stated this was to gather a basic texture gallery/library for quick reference and such

you would be suprised how handy these could be in the future, despite their final look, it is good to have reference and clear pattern so you can apply them to other things...

Jon you say that like I've never used an image editing prog in my life. All I'm saying is the results from other progs look better. I mean I don't care one way or another. Just my opinion. I guess if I'm going to make a texture I'll do it in one program so I don't have to use something as a "base" only to fix it later in another. Kinda an extra step in the pipeline to me.

Just saying I'm not real impressed with this programs output. Nothing at all to do with Wehtam's skills. The outputs just remind me of 90's style games. I've been watching this thread a wile and keep seeing it hit the top and all the raving. I just don't see it man.

@ Locrian, I completely understand where your coming from. The reason I am using Texture Maker is that it's quick and it helps me become familiar with the program. The more textures I work on the more custom macros I make. I also want to help those that are unable to produce their own textures. The output files would never be mistaken for photographs but i'm sure they'll satisy a good number of developers around here

could you make me a texture that has a whole bunch of colored panels on it? and between the panels there should be a metal texture. and see f you can give the panels the effect of glowing by giving them nright neon colors!

Aliens are real! you all laugh at me now and think I'm crazy! but when I post a video of me with an alien, you will all be sorry!!!

Yeah Wehtam_,
I hope ya know I wasn't downing you man. My problem is with Texturemaker. I've got low cost things I like for certain deals too. Like in Paintshop pro I like doing alphas and painting with other textures. PSP, any image you got open you can paint with and you can control its size. Photo shop as good is that is, is a pain to define as a patterern, size, ect. I bought PSP in 97 for like 100$. I've never updated from 7 but I've always reinstalled it anytime I get a new comp or reinstall an OS.

Jon kinda came to your defence there, but I wasn't downing you....hope ya know that.

I was wondering if u could make me a hexigonal tiled floor grayish in color (different from the one included in the creator)
that would be sweet

That was pretty close to what i meant, but I gues I could have been clearer... here is a crappy sample of what i meant. if you could use this basic outlay, but spruce it up with uber textures, that would be great!

just kind of colored squares with metal inbetween

but that floor you made gave me a new idea...

Suicid3, Wehtam is one of the biggest contributors to FPSC on the boards. This thread has become one of the more popular ones as of late. I THINK that if he's been gone for a few days, he's got good reason to be. So lay off, man--your game can't be THAT far behind schedule that you need these textures five weeks ago.

I know what you mean but when i post on a forum i am never the first post if you know what i mean and im always last served.
And im not angry with him im just wondering how long he might take.
Not that im trying to make an argument but my game is behind schedule.

hmmm, footprint, not sure how that would look tiled so what i've done is created a generic muddy ground texture, and you can specify the footprint, fair deal yeah ?

I still argue, S3, your game can't be that far behind if you're just now asking for it. I don't know too many people who wait until they have to have it before they ask for something; that's poor planning on your part if that is the case. Time is the one thing you HAVE to allot for in this hobby. A good rule of thumb is to take care of what you need a few weeks prior to when you need it, to give the artist time to do the work. From the way Wehtam's talking, yours and Small + Cool's are the last ones he's gonna be able to do for a while, and not on your time frame, either.

Whether or not you were the last legit request, the fact remains that you should have had an alternate plan for this. Sometimes you have to work with what you have rather than try to get what you don't.

I have to say, this is one of the coolest threats out there! Wehtam, your textures look fantastic. Im assuming these can be used with segment editor? Also if i may make a request . . .

Could you please do me a jungle wall. Does anyone remember the days of playstation 1? When in outdoor levels, games developers would sneakily use a carefuly textured wall to give the illusion of a continuous jungle? If you could do that for me, it would be great.

Thanks, Namnung
