@ Matt:

I gave you status of "CT Management", which basically means you can do what you want anywhere on the CT network, including the CT forum. I'm trusting you with that responsibility.

You're not able to moderate the web ring just yet though, give me a few more days.

Sorry I haven't had time to do much coding recently, I've been trying to sort out FTP issues with one of my clients.

Hopefully I'll have some time on Sunday.

As soon as Josh gets some free time and sets me up for some modding action, I'll get things rolling and post the sites for everyone. Thanks again for the list btw! I'm not sure if my reply got through because my internet connection's been weird today and yesterday.

As I've said on the CT forums, I'd be glad to help out with the coding. As some people say I have too much time on my hands.

Oh and Matt, your message showed up.

@ Jess:

The .htaccess code you emailed me gave an internal server error, I've had do some messing around so the domain isn't going to be pointing to the directory for a few days atm.

http://www.codersturf.com/tgcwebring/ still works fine though.

@ Dabip:

What can/do you want to do exactly?

I've been fixing some bugs, currently fixing a permissions bug which stops even admins from editing links.

Nothin I really want to do, but I know PHP and MYSQL. So, I am able to help with whatever. My knowledge on MYSQL is basic, but I know enough to get a job done. Oh and PHP I know basic stuff, but not so basic, if you understand.

I'm with Keith here.
Is there some reason our sites aren't on there?

Edit:My site is on there but it is in the tutorial section. Can somebody please move it to the media section?

Keith,
You might have to resubmit it.

Guy's, don't forget that the site isn't finished yet.
I wouldn't be surprised that the sites that are currently up are only by chance and/or for testing purposes!

Having said that, I did submitt my site (and it got accepted), so I'm not 100%

Please don't submit your site multiple times, when the site is up and running you will be able to request alterations through an online form.

While we're here; has anybody had any problems posting on the CT forum?

I didn't know we were supposed to re-submit our sites. I thought the old list was being used. I had asked if anything had changed (or if we had to resubmit) to let us know in this thread; as no one said anything, I assumed we were good to go.

I didn't think you were. I had thought that the site was still in transition; but I've seen sites start to pop up on the webring site, so I thought it was online and some sites were just being left out.

Where in the world do you live? Which browser and OS are you using? What's your connection speed?

Is it just the forum index which is slow for you?

@ Gaming Colosseum:

It says you haven't submitted any links atm as that page displays the moderation logs from the database. As you submitted your site before I implemented the code to save moderation logs your link isn't being displayed. I will fix this eventually, but you cannot yet submit revisions for links anyway.

Sorry it's taking it's time, but I'm doing as much as I can while being in full time education.

Well, West US, IE7, WINXP, High Speed DSL (that faster end, I'm not sure what the actual speed is though)

And nearly everything loads pretty slowly, at one time the server ran things right (but before that things were slow), but then it slowed down. I figured it was because of the server move or something. I wasn't really sure. Everything else loads fast though, well, the sites like the web ring.

A fairly large ISP in America was having problems with it's DNS server until now, that might have been the cause.

My ISP is Time Warner (RR), I had a problem with CT last week where it didn't load, but I tried again a few seconds later and it seemed to be fine. Also, when I went to the URL, it sent me directly to CT with no sign of the webring anywhere, but I assumed you were doing maintenance or something so I didn't bring it up.

Sorry Josh to bring up another bug, it might be something you haven't added yet though and I'm not trying to rush you
. The moderate button doesn't seem to work, I click it and nothing happens and so I can't inspect and approve the sites waiting in the queue yet. But it might be a feature you're still building... I'm just bringing it up in case it's busted.

As for the DNS issues, they was not caused by AOL, for once lol. The tgcwebring.info domain pointed to the CT home page for a while as I was performing a bit of maintenance, it should now be pointing to the correct directory.

@ dabip:

Do you get an internal server error every time now?

Quashed a truck load of bugs today! Matt you should now be able to moderate links perfectly!

Most links are in the wrong categories, so as soon as I finish writing the code you guys can revise your links. When logged in you'll see a small edit icon next to each link, but it won't do anything just yet.

Might even get everything finished off today! Famous last words eh!

How should revisions be handled by the web ring? So far I've got it so everybody can submit 1 revision per link at a time. (If you submit 2 revisions one after another the first one is replaced.)

But what if 3 people submit revisions for a link before the MOD has a chance to look at it, how will they choose which revision to use? Or what if they want to use features from each revision.

Any ideas on how this can be handled.

The editings should be put on a que list like when submiting a link. Then the mod checks it over and goes from there.

Edit: Right when I clicked Send Message, an Idea hit me. You could have the web ring search through the link as sort of a "pre"preview for the mod. Like : warning, this link might have some un appropiate content. Then the MOD might be on the guard.

So are the ones who were on the old web-ring going to be put on the new one, or do we have to re-submit? I asked about this a page or two back, but still haven't heard anything on it.

I've had the old TGC web-ring in our links since this started, but we haven't had our site put up yet. It was my understanding that the old list was recieved, and would be applied.

I'd like to know if this is going to happen, before I take it down from our site.

Do I need to resubmit it?
