yeah it is.....
myne basic (Shark basic) is created in assembly , eveything including parsing , but "engine" is codded stricly in db.
anyways , don`t give up , try the best you can , it`s great to thing your trying to do!
i want to help you , i think i have some old c++ CODE for a compiler (but including some other files that are called that are not c++...) - but you can use that...(i`l try to find it , but i can`t promiss i will , becouse it`s very old , i might of been deleted it by now...)
anyways belive it or not i prefere c more then c++ (i`m using PELLLES C) - anyways i love how easy it is in it to call direct 3d and make a wonderfull raytrace effect , it`s maby a little harder then db pro , but certanly more powerfull and free.
(but man , if you wanna make whole 3d game in it , you better take a couple of years off (i mean off work)
