Hi Guys,

If anyone has installed V10X and wants to revert to V1, follow the following steps carefully. Make a backup of all your world before proceeding:

1. Make a backup of all the FPSC files you have created
2. Rename the FPS Creator folder to 'FPS Creator BKUP'
3. Uninstall the V10X patch fully
4. Uninstall the FPSC product fully
5. Re-install the FPSC product.
6. Copy the FPSC-Game.exe from the new installation to the 'FPS Creator BKUP' folder, overwriting the current file that is there
7. Now delete the newly installed 'FPS Creator' folder
8. Rename the old 'FPS Creator BKUP' back to 'FPS Creator'

This will restore your copy to V1 again, and you can continue your work. We will be conducting more tests and tweaks on the FPSC update to resolve the various issues that these recent releases has found. Only upgrade if you feel the published changes are necessary for your own purposes.

He could mean any version of FPSC.

I would revert back to V1.0, but I heard that Model Packs 1 and 5 automatically upgrade your FPSC to 1.04 RC10 because it won't work in V1.0. Otherwise I would be happy. Also my 3rd party packs are messed up in there. The textures get mixed up and then it crashes when I try to use half of the models. I have a picture of the error. It also says Extra Debug Information: 0,0. Before I had 1.04 RC 10 and went back to V1 because I kept getting the same error. And Lee, we need a major update ASAP.

There's new versions of those model packs with the updates stripped out so you're just installing the model packs.

Can't you just run the setup.exe from the FPSC disc and hit repair?

I believe that the ONLY file that matters is FPSC-GAME.exe and that you ONLY need to copy that over (availiable with any FPSC Game download).

Hi,

I can't get 1.04 to build my arena without getting an error using softlight mapping or full lightmapping. V 1.0 works fine with my file?

I run a dual AMD 2800 MP 2 gig ram and Windows 2000 with a 128meg video card and Gigs of free disk space

but i run windows vista duel core 2.8ghz 1gig ram and a geforce with 512 mb ...

Mssr. Bamber, can you tell us if it is safe to simply continue developing with shaders off and quick lightmapping, with the assumption that these problems will be resolved in a future update in the near future? In other words, will work done on current projects be perfectly okay after the next update? I have gathered the problems lie primarily in the display engine, this won't impact the actual data used for the maps and entities.

This way we can continue working with V.04 safe in the knowledge that any pending fix will only repair these currently askew options i the game.

If I can use pixel and vertex shaders in my game, I think I got screwed by purchasing FPSC and all existing packs. It's false advertising. On the other hand, if I can keep working and expect a fix in the near future so I can recompile my maps and get them running correctly, it's a temporary inconvenience.

The best game to work on is the one you enjoy playing the most.

How bout if my game dont work?
I always get errors when building a multiplayer game....
And when i play one (or try to) Its says cant load image at line 501...I need help....

After going into the specific scripts that effect multi-player, I converted all of the .tga extensions to .dds because there are no .tga files.

Then I got this.

Runtime Error 506 - Could not load image at Line 11492

I am going to reload to v1.0 and then try again. Should it fail, I will be back.

Hi,I'm brand new to fpsc, but it looks promising, like some of you I have come across some bugs.
When I said "brand new" i meant I have been working with it for around a week, in that week I have downloaded almost all the packs, the latest being pack 8 (Dark Egypt), on installing the pack to my fpsc folder (which is not drive c), pack 8 decided program files should be on c, I prefer not to use c, any one know why it would do this, my thought is how it was packed into the exe file, if so then is it unchangeable?. I have tried to place it elsewhere on my computer but it still installs pf drive c
Other problems are loading the other packs, (the updated ones with 7 in the file) has downgraded fpsc to v1.3 from v1.6.

I run vista 64 with directx 10 and 3gig ram + nvidia 8500 from sparkle.Lastly I had been in the middle of creating a level with Dark Egypt and was testing the play area when my character suddenly got stuck whilst running across the floor.
I hate to start off on a forum with negativity, but better to let the programers know.
On the whole though I think this will be a great tool for many would be programers once they get bugs ironed out.
FPSC 10 looks good!
Does anyone know if you can import terrain maps from T.ed

I have the exact same problem with debug and the light one, and everytime i got to load v1.04 it says I dont haver a directx newer than 2006 and i do i got directx 9.0. Its breaking me, and my model packs are 1 3 4 5, and i ordered them when they had came out and I lost info and extra now i cant get the updates for them so i cant go to v1.07. Im think im gonna cry UPDATE PLEASE THIS IS KILLING THE COMMUNITY
