I've just come back from the Cinema and "Hot Fuzz" is the best film I have seen in quite a while. I can't tell you the best bits without ruining the film, but needless to say, it's well worth the £6 or whatever it costs.

£6? That's insane - it's only about £3.50 here, and I think that is already too much

Hehe...just got back from watching it now

Was so good! the funny thing is, it was filmed in a place called Wells, which is a couple miles from my home, and where I used to go to school LOL! Was weird spotting all the locations...I'll never see that place in the same light again

It's £6 here to, Cinemas are too expensive, £5 for a bag of Malteasers and a small drink, insane as you can't bring in your own food.

Well I'm going to see it in a couple of weeks as well, looks bloody hilarious, is it better than Shaun of the Dead?

Cinema food is a rip-off I'm lucky that the people at my local Odeon don't care when you bring in food from other shops

I want to see Hot Fuzz soon as well, I saw Blood Diamond this week.

I haven't seen Shaun of the Dead. Watch the trailer for Hot Fuzz; it's fairly representative. Ignoring the fact that it's a comedy, it's probably one of the most lavish, well executed action films to come from a British writing team. Infact, it's probably the only action film...

I am looking forward to The Fuzz too but I just hope that the film doesn't sag towards the end like Shaun Of The Dead (still a great film, but the earlier half is much better than the later one).

Simon Pegg was on Top Gear last night. The MP5 story just seems like something he (the fat one) would do, check it out if you can.

I think I'm gonna wait on the DVD, I still can't see these films as cinema type movies - much better with a mug of tea and some biscuits. Know what I mean? - popcorn just doesn't fit right.

so what does 6(pounds?) translate to in US dollars? cause here it's $9 for one ticket, and $4.50 for a small drink and $3.50 for a popcorn...and if they catch yah bringing in store bought candy, they kick you out, bastards...though in Florida there was a cheapy movie theater that every Tuesday it was only $0.50 for a ticket. and when me and my friends went we'd wear baggy pants and stuff them with snacks..and one guy would literally stick two 2-liter's of pop up his pants and hold them from the insides of his pockets it was hilarious, cause his girlfriend would give the door man the ticket and he'd always look at him funny...ah, fun times

Yeah Hot Fuzz is a great film!

It's £7.50 at our cinema at peak times (e.g. evenings) but it's worth the price as it’s a fantastic cinema.

Sound like you need to be more daring! I've taken BK's and McDonald’s into cinemas before, and truck loads of other food. Just so long as they don't notice they don't care.

I'm sure you wouldn't say the same about a hollywood action blockbuster - this film is just as credible in that respect. I would recommend blowing £6 on it - just make sure you don't sit next to a noisy popcorn eater.

About $12, but this was a *very* nice cinema; plush, comfortable seats. However, 2 tickets, 1 drink and some nachos came to about £19 (almost $40USD). Not good.

Nah, it goes insane at the end, once the old dears get the shooters out . Took your advice Adr and went to see it last night (£4). Damn funny in parts, but really I preferred Shaun of the Dead, even though most of the cast was the same.

Hey, is the season 2 DVD of Spaced available anywhere? - I have the first season, but there's episodes I haven't even seen properly in season 2, really need to get hold of that.

Yeah I think our local googleplex is a bit cheaper during the week, on a Friday I'd probably have to pay £7 if memory serves, but it's kinda out of the way, so they have to cut the prices during the week to encourage folk.

We used to have a really nice little cinema on the high street here, 3 screens, I still remember my first trip to the cinema there - Superman. Damn I miss that place, it was one of the few things you could do on a Saturday here, nowadays we have practically nothing local, sept bingo.

Ours do care, but we do sneak things in a backpack.

As for old Cinemas, we had one that is now a nightclub, it was great, fairly cheap, okay screen...now the last time I went there before it got closed down for the newer all expensive Cinema, well I can't remember what I was seeing, but I know I was excited by the Blues Brother's 2000 Coming Soon Poster

Ticket prices are way out of hand, $11.00 near me. There is a second run cinema where you can see 2 month old movies for $1.99, but by the time they get them you usually can see some scratching here and there, on occasion part of the film will be missing if the film broke before. For the cost of the 2 tickets I usually just wait and buy the DVD, some films arw worth the theater and since most are in the summer I like to go to the Drive-in and get 2 movies for $20 for the whole van of us (plus we bring our own food)

How do the people at the back of the van see the screen, through the sunroof?

Note: I've never been in a drive-in: I think you only get those in the USA, so I honestly don't know.

actually we usually park with the back facing the screen, open up the hatch toss out some lawn chairs and use the cooler as a table.

Hmm, gore. Well there was the bit with the church - that was rather gory, but other than that, it was pretty clean, comparitively.

Ace film though - £5 tickets where I am, and I eat a big dinner beforehand so I don't crave overpriced sweeties.

Just saw it, hilarious film, didn't realise Bill Bailey was to make his appearance, but he has worked with those two before, even if they did only make brief appearances in Black Books. (And Dylan Moran's role, from Shaun of the Dead)

It just got so ridiculous, it was funny, good laughs though, nice one mocking American cop movies towards the end. It gave more laughs than Shaun of the Dead I must say.

Yeah there's a few other funny actors who pop up - Martin Freeman (The Office) and Steven Merchant (Extras) too
