I was asleep, and had a really weird dream, and then i woke up, and i came to me! I should start a cartoon series on youtube known as...

Blues' Clues Murder Mysteries

I have almost know animating experience except for claymations. I bought flash studio awhile ago on a wild urge to learn flash, but never got very far...

I could use that and export it as a video, then upload to youtube.

Sound like a good idea?

First of all Nickelodeon retains the rights to the first part of your name.
They would be very proactive if they caught you with a C&D, even if it was just for fun.
Remember how they treated the original Ren and Stimpy creators chris.K.
Plus Todd Kessler the writer - director might not like it

depends how close to the original it is and if it could be called a parody. Most likely you'll end up getting a cease and desist letter though.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

besides the law isues, no one ever seems to care about that suff on youtube in law, i mean, look at all the illegaly uploaded music vids on there. but if you do decide to make it, i think you should use a ridiculously awesome ST with limp bizkit, Marilyn manson and any other decent bands of that sorts on it

well, once AOL bought YouTube, they started to delete copyrighted material...i used to be able to watch my favorite cartoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender...but now the vids are deleted, and the guys account that use to upload them is gone.

So maybe pre-AOL, you coulda got away with it.

As for being a director on YouTube, I think that you should go ahead.
Have fun and entertain people.

I wish I had time to use my director account.

If it is done as a satire/goof on the kids show you should have few legal problems at all actually. If however you just wanted to take the characters from the show and put them in a new setting, but remain faithful to the original (ie a spinoff not a goof on the original) you would surely have problems.
