is it possible to (in DBC) to take a .x file, load it into a game, and then make it solid without making a ton of boxes?

I don't think that's possible...

He means to fill in every empty space in the model with blocks or something. To leave no space in the model un-filled with matter.

thats kinda what i mean... butwhat i want to do... say i load a 3D castle... is there a line of code that will automatically fill in the castle walls so that it has collision>??? that way... i wouldn't have to make a box for my collisions... cuz this is my collision code:

O, you mean you want collision? Look at Sparky's Collision (or Nuclear Glory if you want to pay). The "intersect object" command in Dark Basic Pro can be used to make basic collision, but I recommend Sparky's.
