Okay, had a math test today and this cartoon was at the end of it (well not exactly, I tried to recreate the drawing and failed miserably).

One of those 'omg I need to get out of here' moments for me...

My math teacher wrote this once:

Women = money x time
time IS money
women = money x money = money^2

money is the sqrt(evil)

women = sqrt(evil) x sqrt(evil)

women = sqrt(evil)^2
women = evil

undeniable mathematical proof!

doesn't that mean the cubed root of 1000q^3, so the answer would be 1000q, or am i missing something?? aargh, im so confuzzled now.

okay, cubed root of 1000q^3:

cube root of 1000=10
cube root of q^3 =q

so, you would get 10q (ten-q)(thank you)

uber-lame.

thats not as bad as one of my old math teachers. He hung hippie posters around the classroom. I remember one Monday we came to school and he had painted the walls of the classroom green over the weekend, it was the only room in the school with a wall color other the standard pale orange. He went through 7 hairstyles the year i had him, and he was a terrible teacher on top of all that.

I hate to sound like a parent, but rather than criticise your teachers, aim to learn everything you can from them. Lets be blunt - the more you learn and the better the education you get now, the more $$$$ you will earn in later life.

Ironic thing is math is an integral (no pun intended!) part of programming and logic. Yet we have people, as Phillip said, being critical about it...

Math is amazing, great fun.

I have 2 women math teachers. One of them said this once:

Quote: "
A postulate is a statment that is so obvious that it doesn't need to be proven. It's accepted without proof. You can't look at a postulate and say "Prove it"

Here's the first postulate in geometry:

Postulate 1

Girls are smarter than boys.

I don't have to prove it, it's a postulate!

I'd actually agree more with Einstein and what he said about school. For those who don't know, school actually teaches people to not be creative thinkers. Ironic it may sound, but think about it...has school ever taught you problem solving? When is school going to teach us something important, something we might remember? After reading the books Social Intelligence and How to Win Friends and Influence People, I realized how stupid we all are with dealing with problems. For example, you can't win an argument no matter how hard you try. Because even if you prove yourself right and the other person wrong...

A man convinced against his will
Is of the same opinion still

And you've made a new enemy...

Yet how many of us keep arguing? School teaches math and logic, something that is provable and undeniable. But what school fails to teach is that it's best to avoid arguments. Stop handing your life over to common thought. Think for yourself. School may make you $$$$, but creative thinking will make you $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Many of today's millionaires were told what society crams into people's brains to no end - don't start your own business. You won't make millions. It's way too risky. - But they didn't listen, and they're the ones with money.

(for one last reason not to get into arguments, read my sig)
