Interesting style. I've done tapping before but nothing like this. I just wonder what tuning he is using, becuase it doesn't sound standard to me.

Aye, I know how you feel, but if I bought one I KNOW I'd spend forever tuning it and never playing it. Especially since my style of playing relies heavily on open tunings and there's a different tuning for just about every song.

Are you commenting on the fact that he only has one G String on the 12 stringed guitar? Or are you making the sort of juvenile comment we've all come to know and expect from you?

that must be a pain in the arse at gigs, i always use one tuning, generally Eb, and then if i need to ill capo it or drop the 6th to Db; but i guess its just your style of music, im guessing acoustic

Aye it is! What tends to happen though is I'll play songs in order of how close the tunings are instead of which go together best. Also using more than one guitar at a gig helps. Yes my music is mostly acoustic, and yes I'm too greatly right hand biased.

That's why you use multiple guitars! My electrics are standard tuning, but my 2 acoustics are both different. Drop D isn't really a big deal, it only takes a second to adjust back and forth.
Alice in Chains have used a lot of different tunings before and that's not acoustic. (well sorta, i call it acoustic grunge)

yeah but generally when your going to a gig you want to take as little as possible, and taking 3 or 4 different guitars is overkill, i generally just take one i sometimes take two along with the one as a backup

to an extent i can understand it, as different open strings can really enhance the sound of a song (drones and pedals) but to change it for every song is excessive, but hey its what people like - ive got a mate who moans at me for using a capo, its personal preference

And how would that not be guitar playing? If you can't work in a different tuning I'd say that's the real beginner.

Mind explaining that statement, or did you mean "I can't do that so it doesn't count". Guitar play is ever evolving, new methods (or rehashes of old methods) emerge all the time.
