hi, i sorta know a bit about electronics but i suck at making circuits on my own

i need to be able to plug a line-in source (like a pc speaker out) into a circuit and that amplifies it so it can then turn that power into a 6v current, so i can hook a motor up to the circuit and when a song plays, it goes thought the circuit and makes the motor spins according to the loudness of the sound

im thinking of somehow using transistors in the circuit somewhere and not using IC's because i couldnt be bothered to go to the shop and get them (i have heaps of diodes, resistors and transistors)

and i am also good at soldering

Thanks

EDIT: oh and i forgot, they are 6 volt motors (two 3V motors in series)

Here is a link, but don't know if you can find a suitable circuit.

probaly just use a transistor to amplify the sound then that feeds second more powerfal one witch drives the motor.

learn blender, you will never regret it.

I think you can get a simple aplification circut from Radio Shack or something...

Why the duece do you want motors to spin faster depending on the volume of your music?? Lol.

It's going to be more complex than you describe. You'll need an invertor, or you'll lose half the signal. You'll need to calibrate the signal to 0.6 Volts for the transistor input. The output gain will need to be controlled, probably involving a Darlington pair. And I'm guessing you'll want to put some kind of capacitor circuit on the transistor output, because no motor is going to like the high frequency output from a microphone. You'll also need some protection in the form of a diode.

yer i know it will be sorta difficult, because if i do use 2 transistors like hessiess said(already thought of it) it probably wont have enough amperage to power the motors, and its not a microphone input, its a line-out input (headphone), microphones have an even less power outage

if it makes it easier to understand what i sorta what (just thougt of sometimes like what i want)
a circuit that is like a vibrator like in the PS2 controllers (and yes i know they act on a voltage input, not sound)
so the more sound, the more vibration in a way

ok, if i have to use a IC, what could i then do??
remember i want it to be, the louder the noise the faster the spinning

I will see what I can come up with for you (can't promise it will be quick). Take a look at how a telephone works(as in land line). it is actually your voice that powers it (hence why when the power goes out it still works) it may help.

you could try serthing for an electronics simulater program, and experiment until you get somthing that works.

oh cool, sounds like a good tool
i will use it if it says what it does in the name

Thanks 2 both
and im woundering Hobgoblin Lord, if u do come up with the circuit, do u mind if i sell it in a product (i probably wont, but just to be sure)

edit: oh dang easysim cost money
edit2: oh wait i found another
edit3: ok i found http://www.kyradesign.co.uk/malachite/ that but on the download page, it doesnt have a link to download it

what inverter do i need?? please look at [href]www1.jaycar.com.au[/href] and plz tell me the type of inverter i need to do this circuit, im gonna do a input>inverter>darlington pair>capactor>motor and its running off 6Volts, (im now putting 6v into each motor, and running off paralell, so the input power is still 6v)

i was thinking, theres transistor amplifiers, they use line-in to amplify and they dont have an inverter....
