Anyone read/reading this book? I picked up yesterday out of the library and have been reading it, I think it's (See Lynne, I used the apostrophe in the right place! You don't have to kill me) pretty funny, especially a book that is entirely about punctuation.
For those who don't know what it is, its a book about the right use of punctuation, including some historical details, a mix of prescriptivism and descriptivism in punctuation. The first chapter is just an entire rant about the use of punctuation today, like 'Well sell cream tea's' or 'Come inside for CD's, Video's and Book's' along with some pretty funny examples. The writer takes this amusing aspect to the use of punctuation is quite a stickler as she calls herself, who has a heart attack everytime she sees bad punctuation. (Just like this forum, haha...we already had that discussion, I won't side track) Also, if there is any bad grammar in there, then I've not payed close attention so far...if my apostrophes are fine, then I have paid enough attention for the point I am in the book...
Must say, it is a good read so far, I wouldn't be put off by the fact it's about punctuation.
