I'd love to see how the story continues. It's been a long time...

I wonder if Terran structures can still fly...

Also, I hope they get rid of the Overlord units, or at least give it some means of attacking. It's frustrating to find out that you haven't won the game yet because the losing Zerg player flew his Overlords to the far corners of the map.

Arkheii,

It's all about strategies, mate - Starcraft is one of the best balanced games, and combined with a nice storyline and massive following, it's enjoyed quite alot of success.

Hopefully SC2 will be able to offer the same

I've always liked Blizzard games (except WoW, since I don't go for the whole online thing).

You'll be in for one hell of a wait. Just as Blizzard South completed World of Warcraft, Blizzard North was shut down due not enough money coming in. Ironic really given the success of WoW became.

Blizzard North had been working on Diable 3 for quite some time, and when the team was broken up; the game (which was attempt 2 if memory serves correctly) was scrapped again. Not that I couldn't say it was nice to see the back-end of it.

Tell you what I'm pissed off never made it to the shops.
Starcraft : Ghost. Looked damn promising, more upset that I never even got a chance to try it. Still want the game, would love to know what happened. One minute it was hailed as "finally blizzard has come to the console", then nada.

Starcraft Ghost looked like ass--- sorry to say. A 3rd person adventure set in the Starcraft universe? Blech. Remember C&C: Renegade?

------------

After reading this announcement I too went looking for my disc. Stupidly, just before moving here, I threw away all the CD cases and boxes (keeping them in their paper cases), and stored all the serial numbers in a text file. I managed to recover various serial numbers from across different backup CDs, except Starcraft. Murphy's Law.

I think it looked alright.

It was suppose to be similar to Splinter Cell, but in the Starcraft universe. Looked pretty decent, especially when you have the ability to use vehicles and command forces from time to time.

Alright so the graphics compared to current games, isn't particularly amazing; and games like this in the past have been poor attempts at introducing certain universes' to a new genre. Still I reckon it would've been a pretty decent game. Shame it was canceled, cause now we'll never know.

Didn't the original creators of Diablo move on to create a futuristic diablo like FPS game? Can't remember the name, but I saw one trailer, and it looked insane. Though i think that was 3-4 years ago??

You can still buy the Starcraft Battlechest in stores. Just shows you how popular the game was and still is.

After watching the trailer, I came to the realization, "so thats why it takes so long to build those units"

I'm going to have to get out my starcraft discs and play.

Hellgate: London is probably what you're thinking of.
Semi-FPS, Semi-RPG where the world creates itself on-the-fly.
