Quote: "Bet I'm worse"
Dunno, I once woke up in the fridge (literally inside it) without any memory after cutting my finger slightly once. When I was about 21 years old. I went through the process of saying things like "You are a grown up now, and grown ups sort this sort of things out". I lived with a nurse at the time and amazingly she had no plasters anywhere (which always sort me out). Still I avoided panic and the last thing I remember is using toilet paper on the wound. I was happy until I saw the blood seeping through. Don't remember anything else. Annoyingly the nurse, when she got home, was unsurprisingly not sympathetic to me when she got home and found me passed out in the fridge.

Oh here are some updates...

I have been to a neurologist and have ruled out some major concerns. Got results back from.

*EEG (Brain waves, test for seizures)
*Echo Cardiogram (heart, thyroid/glandular area major arteries)
*MRI W/Contrast (Brain and neck)

All of these came back normal. I do have stage 1 of a leaking valve (laymans term) in my heart. Although it's quite common, it has reinforced my desire to change some life habits. The leaky valve triggers some of my paplatations, and fluttering feeling in my chest. Don't believe there is a cure, but I definatley need to take preventative measures in the form of living a healthier lifestyle.

Bood work-up: Pending
I am waiting to go over some blood-work and will get the results early next week. Some regular work-ups including thyroid. But most importantly need to rule out Lymes Disease. So I had a lyme titer (sp?) test done.

Results from Certified Dietary Nutritionist:

This is where I have gotten the most useful information on what might have gone wrong, as well as positive results in mind and body. The diagnosis from my CDN was that I am dealing with adrenal exhaustion and that many of my sympotms are a direct result of poor nutirition, hydration, followed by allowing these intial symptoms to dictate my life habits. Getting into this cycle caused things to spiral downward over time.

It's interesting because I was slowly becoming over-weight, but wouldn't consider myself obese. I never would have guessed that I was in a nutritional crisis, and that most of what I am going thorugh could be directly a result of some pretty basic wellness steps that we all learn even in elementary school.

The problem was that I had let things go to such an extent that simple recommended daily allowances of certain vitamins, minerals, etc... were not going to get me out of the syndrome I had created. I really needed to supercharge myself with the "right amounts" after analyzing my defeciencies. You'll see this when you look at the %DV of my customized supplements. I say this because it's important. You really need to have a professional analyze and monitor your supplements, because you "CAN DO HARM TO YOURSELF" by taking the wrong or wrong amounts of vitamins, herbs, and minerals. Especially if you are currently taken any prescrition and/or over-the-counter medicines.

Anyway, here is what I am currently taking. *NOTE the first few days I felt worse, as my body went into a bit of toxic shock. I literally felt like death, and almost gave up. Luckily I have persisted following the treatment plan, and am finally reaping the positive results.

I'll post the results of my NeuroScience test later for anyone interested, in what was analyzed.

I am at the beginning of feeling great in body and in mind. Haven't felt this good at any part in my life that I can rememeber. My focus, mood, energy levels are at levels i never imagined possible for me. I am eating a better diet, and getting some suggestions on recipes and different fish from Indi.

I am exercising at an hour a day, and making sure I receive at least 20 minutes a day of full spectrun light (sunlight: without shades). I am norwegian/german blonde hair, blue-eyes, and fair skin. I have always been hyper-sensitive to sunligh. so I have avoided it (especially my eyes) I never went out without shades on, or a hat covering my eyes. Well guess what. That's not really a good thing to do all day long. Turns out that NeuroTransmitters in our brain that control or moods and pleasure centers need sunlight. Not just at the skin, but directly from the eyes.

I'll let you all know how things turn out. But right now things are looking positive. I am detoxifying, and only drinking water, and have eliminated all breads, and white flour, sugar, etc... The first few days I felt sick, and even wound up with what will hopefully be my last sinus infection and Migraine headache that lasted for five days!!!!

Sincerely,
~zenassem

Thx Heartbone,

I forgot to mention that I have lossed roughly 14 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I started at nearly my max weight of 192 lbs with a tight 33 inch waist. Bear in mind that I am 5'7". I had started to get puffy around the face, and was mainly packing on inches of tough fat around my mid section. So I'm currently 178 lbs and wering my 31" pants and looking to get back into 30" clothes. My ideal weight is somewhere between 150-160 lbs depending on muscle. That was my military weight at 19-20 y.o. (I am currently 32 y.o.) and the best shape that I was in. I had a 28" waist, but I'll have to look at my medical records to see my BMI/body fat% and other measurements.

I graduated HS. at 135 lbs, but that had me looking a bit scrawny.

My next appointment will take a closer look at my body mass index, and muscle re-toning.

Here are the results from my NeuroScience analysis:
Epinephrine (LOW) = 6.0@daytime : Optimal range = 8-12@daytime : Therapeutic range: 8-13@daytime
Norepinephrine (LOW) = 45.7 : 35-50 : 30-75
Dopamine (OK) = 138.6 : 110-175 : 200-350
*Serotonin (LOW) = 115.5 : 150-200 : 200-700
GABA (ELEVATED) = 5.5 : 1.5-4.0 : 5-10
PEA (OK) = 402.4 : 175-450: N/A
Creatinine = 232.2: N/A : N/A

*This was the most shocking as I am taking a Sertonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SRI) Paxil. That has been adjusted and increased over the years. This is suppose to prevent my body from Removing serotinin to quickly not given my brain a chance to utilize serotonin. Amazing how low it still is, and it's baffling to how low it must have been before Paxil. Obviously it wasn't working optimally for me. Makes you think, doesn't it?

My take on all this: eat a healthy diet, get enough sleep, exercise regularly, keep hydrated with water, and you'll be ok. Obviously you don't want to talk on a cell phone 24/7, drink 20 cans of diet pop a day or sleep with your head next to your wireless router, but these things in moderation won't cause you much harm.

Milkman is completely right.

To add to it, I really wouldn't have guessed that all of this could have been caused by my poor habits. The thing is, you start thinking it's all of these other complex illnesses. Over-time you get caught in a downward spiral, and your symptoms increase exponentially. That is where I wound up. Now if you reach that point, sometimes you need to have a Certified Dietary Nutritionist step in. And in order to get yourself back to maintaining your health with the basics - you might need to correct your body chemistry and help your body to help itself!!!

Honestly, I never really thought that I was in as bad shape (nutritionally) as I was. Sure I was gaining weight, not making the best eating and exercise choices. But I wasn't obese or completely sedantary either. I was busy, worked two jobs, and didn't think that I was much worse off than anyone else I knew. You get so cuaght up in thinking it must be something major, and never think that the answers could be so simple. I got my body to and chemical levels to the point, that even changing my diet and exercise seemes to make me feel worse. I was so off from a healthy balance that without supplements, and "super-charging" my system, even the good practical advice had me feeling like death.

Everyone is different and so what might make your body go into toxification mode, might not effect someone else in the same way. Beyond the diet and exercise I can tell you all with confidence that mental fitness is also key. It takes all 3.

1. Nutritional Fitness
2. Muscle/body/exercise Fitness
3. Mental Fitness

Although I had been in counseling for a period of time, I never seemed to address all three of the above with vigor. Sometimes I would work on one, maybe two areas. You wouldn't believe what worrying, fear, stress, anxiety etc... can do to your body. Especially when not taking care of yoursefl Nutritionally, and exercise. It's a vicous cycle.

Here's the cycle

- You feel bad or off. Not yourself.
- You start making bad choices in both diet & execercise
- You begin to feel worse
- Your mind and thinking start to become impaired or foggy
- You worry more, feel worse, and make even worse choices. Possibly feel more stressed, not yourself, even depressed.

- You get to a point you know something is wrong.
So you try to change 1 or 2 of the above.

While Not Addressing All Three....
- Unfortunatley by not addressing all three, you keep getting negative results, and feel worse, more frustrated, more depressed, more not yourself. Strange aches and pains, mental/physical fatigue, mood swings become more of your daily life.

- This enforces the bad habits that got you there, and over time things get worse, mentally, physically, spirtually.

- Your symptoms over time are increasing in number and effect. Everything you are trying seems to back-fire. Tests from your doctor all come back suggesting you should be okay. Perhaps it's a mental issue????

- You start to feel like a hypochondriac and believe it must all be in your head. So you work on your mental attitude. Seek a psychiatrist and/or psychologists. And although you see improvement, you still feel not quite yourself.

- You begin taking medications or increasing/changing current medications your on. Sometimes this relieves your symptoms, but only for a limited time. So you think you have the answer, and feel it's just about finding the right medication and dose.

- You bounce back and forth between feeling ok, and feeling like death. Yet the window of time feeling good, slowly, year by year shrinks.

Repeat...
